Bob Bethoney Uechi-Ryu Karate Seminar at Uechi-Con 2023

During his Uechi-Ryu Karate seminar, Bob Bethoney teaches some key aspects of how he trains Uechi-Ryu Karate. Bob Bethoney is a legend in the world of Uechi-Ryu Karate having fought and won many tournaments overseas in his youth and working as an undercover officer.
Sensei Bob Bethoney began his training in the Uechi-Ryu Karate system in 1964. He currently holds the rank of 10th Dan and is a member of the Uechi-Ryu Hall of Fame. Out of the 5 different Uechi-Ryu Karate schools that he has owned, Sensei Bob Bethoney has taught over a thousand students - many whom have won championship titles. Bob Bethoney has also been awarded over 57 trophies for full contact and point tournaments.

from one of his proud students for many years, he is an excellent instructor. Because of his training I've had more than one unfortunate occasions where I've been able to walk away safe and without harm from aggressive people that refused to walk away in spite multiple attempts to de-escalate. Can't wait to get back to training.

It really depends on the individual dojo and student. Some focus less on them then others do.
