100% right decision. When I surrendered my heart to Messiah, Bob's songs were, and still are a great comfort to me. I was 18 then, I'm 62 now, Thank YHWH for His Great Son and The Comforter, The Holy Spirit. It's been a difficult walk sometimes, but only when I didn't cast my cares upon Him who cares for me. Much love in Yeshua to all and Thanks Bob, my brother. xx

Great guitar, but I wonder how he felt assisting an arrogant evangelical who was pontificating that those who didn't share his brand of Christianity would go to Hell. For all his great music, Dylan has always been a haughty asshole. How Christ-like is that?
@ronl5143 жыл бұрын
@@keithfitzgerald3536 Hello....all that I can say in response to your opinion is that I cannot speak for Dylan's personal behavior, I do not know the man, only through his music, if arrogance is a besetting sin, he will someday answer for it! As far as his brand of Christianity goes I can only say that the truth is often offensive, especially to the non-believer and it wounds a man's pride, (Bob points this out in more than a few songs) Jesus greatly offended the religious leaders of his day and was crucified, he is no milk-toast, squishy savior but Lord of all and all will answer to him come judgement day!

@@ronl514 I am an atheist. All religions are the same to me. They are all grand mythologies. Not an iota of empirical evidence exists that Jesus, Buddha, Muhammed, or any of the so-called prophets existed. For most people, asserting their faith, just like with nationalism or any other kind of tribalism, as well as family pride, is a form of narcissism. You think your faith, your ideology, your country or city or school or whatever, your kids, are the best. It's all self-stroking. By the way, when was the last time Dylan made reactionary Christian music? Four decades ago. You are all entitled to believe in whatever deities, demons, ghosts, aliens, angels, conspiracy theories, and other hooha that you like. You refer to "the truth." Some kind of biblical "truth," such as "God" saying that guys who have sex with guys should be put to death, that we can only eat insects with jointed knees, and that "unclean discharges" such as menstruation and what-all "defile" holy places, blah blah blah blah blah. "Holy" books are shot through with ancient prejudices cooked up and propagated by men in power with all the imagination and compassion of a walnut.

What happened and how it happened to the great native American people that were here before the Europeans came was a sin but it was inevitable. The modern age made sure of that. Someone was going total over this country. It not the Europeans that the Russians or the Chinese or someone else. Taking over other peoples land is what people do to other people through history. Shine your light, shine your light on me Shine your light, shine your light on me Shine your light, shine your light on me Ya know I just couldn't make it by myself I'm a little too blind to see. 🎵🎶🎵🎶 My so called friends have fallen under a spell They look me squarely in the eye and they say, "Well all is well'" Can they imagine the darkness that will fall from on high When men will beg God to kill them and they won't be able to die. Sister, lemme tell you about a vision that I saw You were drawing water for your husband, you were suffering under the law You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in one breath You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal's death. Shine your light, shine your light on me Shine your light, shine your light on me Shine your light, shine your light on me Ya know I just couldn't make it by myself I'm a little too blind to see. 🎵🎶🎵🎶 Precious angel, you believe me when I say What God has given to us no man can take away We are covered in blood girl, you know our forefathers were slaves Let us hope they've found mercy in their bone-filled graves. You're the queen of my flesh, girl, you're my woman, you're my delight You're the lamp of my soul, girl, and you torch up the night But there's violence in the eyes, girl, so let us not be enticed On the way out of Egypt, through Etiopia, to the judgement hall of Christ. First time i listened to this song was on my step-grandfather's vinyl copy up in Rhode Island around 2012 or so. It blew me straight away. (what an unfortunate sounding previous phrase)

Never heard this song before, I like it. This must have been before he came to the crossroads and the devil made a deal that he accepted. He’s def talking about Jesus here. ❤😊

Always reminds me on my soulmate, greatest Dylan-Fan ever. She died 29 years ago at the age of 30. Fuck cancer. Miss her every day, feels to me as she was gone yesterday. Please ignore my bad english 🥰😉❤.

Absolutely. I am not a fan of Christianity (even Dostoevsky cannot convert me), but Dylan does inspire.

@@GeraldineGeh You would love the Kingdom of God though, which can be entered through faith in Christ. Hallelujah, what a gift to receive.

Like “Tangled Up…” this song builds and builds to the incredible climax that only Dylan can craft. “Sufferin’ under the Law”.

Not sure but I listen to all your stuff. Used to live out in California, actually met and mingled a bit with some of your Band mates (Rick Danko) at his or someone’s house.

I've been a huge Bob Dylan fan since I was 10 years old. I've heard every song and since September 17th, 1987 I've been to every concert in Berlin. Unforgettable the concert on the Treptower Festwiese. I have a secretly pressed Vernyl record of it. There are only 300 of them. The Song "Precious Angel" one of my absolute favorite songs. I love these Song. Tank you Bob.
