We love Marty, we play music every Sunday afternoon, I can’t count the number of songs you help with over the years, always spot on, and always fun to watch. I’ve heard it said you taught the world to play guitar, I totally agree. You’ve help teach us, rock on brother, rock on

Glad I found Marty. I was fair intermediate + player, then had a series of health issues...like ten years worth!Fortunately I held onto a 1997 US Strat and a Taylor acoustic.Thank you Marty! My fingers aren't so tender anymore, and you're making my comeback much easier. As I play along, my memory gets jarred, and I'm remembering lots of the stuff I used to do and building on that. 🎸

I too am a big Dylan fan, since the early days. Long time man. This is my all time favorite song. It has been on my list to learn for a long time. Thanks for a lesson I can get. I have a lot of your stuff and enjoy all of it.

I have tried a few different versions of this song by other KZbinrs but I must say, Marty's version is as close to what I hear when I listen to this classic Dylan tune - also one of my favourite tunes by this Genius singer-songwriter - I like how he plays with pronouns to emphasize the passing of time - I surmise that Dylan must have written the lyrics as a semi-autobiographical tune?

I'm learning a few different ways to place this, but Marty's is the most fun. The guitar sounds great with the capo. The strumming is a bit challenging!

Marty, it really helps to sing the lyrics during chord changes...even if you don't sing that great....Thanks!

Marty, I've already praised you as a great teacher, but I gotta give your Dylan impression props. Most people think they can do a Dylan impression and it sounds easy to do, but most people do it badly. On top of that, most people do it badly and obscure the fact that he's actually a certain kind of good singer in the sense that its hard to sing like him and not sound like you're doing a goofy imitation- his phrasing and articulation are very good and very distinct. Still, you're impression was very good.

Hey Marty, thanks for this lesson. I have to admit, I'm not one of your regular students because I tend to prefer tutorials with a long intro clip 'cause I don't need the details (chords, progression, strumming pattern). All I need is the tuning (standard or alternate) and a buddy to play it through for me...I think a good compromise for a lot of us more advanced players would be having that info ( tuning and time where song played through in clip) in the space below the screen...Anyway, glad to see lot's of people followed you here and you can keep feeding your family while beeing your own boss. Cheers, brother.

Hi Marty, I wanted to bring your attention to something. I have the Dylan Songbook and in it he plays Tangled up in Blue in the key of A. The chords go from A to G translating it to the key of G, the chords rock back and forth from G to F (not G to C). You can download the Dylan songbook for free. The song is from the album Blood on the Tracks. One of my favorites also. FYI
