A propos of absolutely nothing - was listening to the hits of 1970 yesterday. Lay Lady Lay was number one on the list. No it didn’t get to number one in the Brit charts, maybe number 3. Fabulous song. Got it on More Greatest Hits as a teenager.

Ach sure at that time I was living in Glasgow so saw Bob there then. Got some pics. If only I could find them. SECC I think. Seen Bob in London, Slane Castle, Kilkenny, Glasgow, Birmingham (England…), not Dublin or Belfast, oddly enough. Very first time was Slane, 1984. With Santana, In Tua Nua, Van made an appearance, or did I imagine that? Think some of that gig on one of the Live albums.

Re. the song - performative perfection. Or performed poetry as - was it Betsy Bowden wrote way back - and I read in the Lecky Library TCD circa 1984. When writing a friggin essay analysing One More Cup Of Coffee. Bob was my age now then.
