The late 90’s early 2000 were a great period of Bob tour. In this song he is soooo into it, delivers it with a subtle touch, takes pleasure like if he was singing it for himself. Shows a grin every once in a while. Pauses, charms everyone and keeps going. Such a great performer ❤

While everyone knows that Dylan is the best song writer of the ages, sometimes we forget that he is a consummate virtual library of Americana folk music which includes a prolific catalog of songs such as this one. It’s that extensive musicology background that formed the foundation for his own song writing.

Something very touching about this performance. He really reworked this song brilliantly and turned it into a Dylan song with that sad, sad refrain, "All the friends I ever had are gone."

Me and you both Mario, the guys did a superb job of adding a new audio onto my original film , which suffered from some audience banter , adding a 2nd camera angle on some of the other songs where applicable, all in all I’m very pleased. Can’t wait to upload Standing In The Doorway and the others

@@woolhall Yes, thanks - I was looking and listning to a lot from your channel yesterday, and also made a lot of likes - it is really great work, and I love Dylan specially his lives from the early 2000 with Larry Campell and Charlie Sexton. The starting of some shows with "I am the man, Thomas" by Ralp Stanley was awsome :)

Delia was a gambling girl, gambled all around, Delia was a gambling girl, she laid her money down. All the friends I ever had are gone. Delia's dear ol' mother took a trip out West, When she returned, little Delia gone to rest. All the friends I ever had are gone. Delia's momma weeped, Delia's daddy moaned, Wouldn't have been so bad if the poor girl died at home. All the friends I ever had are gone. Curtis' looking high, Curtis' looking low, He shot poor Delia down with a smokin' forty-four. All the friends I ever had are gone. High up on the housetops, high as I can see, Looking for them rounders, looking out for me. All the friends I ever had are gone. Men in Atlanta, tryin' to pass for white, Delia's in the graveyard, boys, six feet out of sight. All the friends I ever had are gone. Judge says to Curtis, "What's this noise about?" "All about them rounders, Judge, tryin' to cut me out." All the friends I ever had are gone. Curtis said to the judge, "What might be my fine?" Judge says, "Poor boy, you got ninety-nine." All the friends I ever had are gone. Curtis' in the jail house, drinking from an old tin cup, Delia's in the graveyard, she ain't gettin' up. All the friends I ever had are gone. Delia, oh Delia, how can it be? You loved all them rounders, never did love me. All the friends I ever had are gone. Delia, oh Delia, how can it be? You wanted all them rounders, you never did want me. All the friends I ever had are gone
