I remember as a youngster staying up as a night owl in the summer months and they used to replay every Braves game on TBS at around 3am. Awesome memories.

He had a great 10 career on pace for 30 to 40 hr's & 100 + RBI's every year but only made it into the 30's a few times & 90's a couple because he never played a full season. Still a great player I wish we could have seen more of. To bad those 4 only produced 5 runs. They had a hard time getting guys on base back then.

For some reason the game was not televised in Savannah. But I listened to the entire game on the radio. Bob Horner was my favorite player. I'm 68 years old now and I think that was my most pleasurable time in sports man I wood get so upset when he was injured which was a lot. He would have probably hit close to 500 homers if he does stay healthy. Thank you mr. Bob Horner For The Memories

Seriously underrated player who, despite battling injuries his entire career, and being in Dale Murphy’s shadow was elite. In 9 years with Braves he averaged an OPS of .839 and OPS+ of 128. The problem I have with Murphy is that, even though he had an outstanding peak (winning two MVPs in that stretch), he had trouble sustaining it from the late 80s on. I have similar issues with Mattingly as well. HOF-caliber peaks with substantial drops in production due to health issues. That’s why it’s incredibly difficult to get into Cooperstown. For a short period of time you look like a lock for the Hall, but a short time later, you’re struggling to be average.
