We had the Avtex router , lots of problems. Found it’s just a cheap Chinese router that you can buy on Amazon they are using. Replaced it with a zte mobile 5g router and a fitting kit from falcon using the same Aerial on the roof. Massive improvement

Bob I was diagnosed type 1 diabetic 6 years ago after being misdiagnosed type 2 … watching your carbs really is the key if you can cut down on those it will certainly help - also best fruits to eat are anything ending with “berry”, avoid grapes and bananas 😊

Hi Bob. I have been on the pre-diabetic course earlier this year and it was a very positive experience. All those who completed the course managed to reduce their blood sugar significantly to below pre-diabetic levels and all achieved substantial weight reductions. Good luck

Good luck with the health Bob, I was in a similar position and told to lose some weight as I had too many carbs with the fear of borderline diabetes, all I did was cut back portion sizes, Two slices of bread with a meal versus three, a third less chips / hashbrowns with my meals and cut back on sweets, I lost weight easily and felt years younger, Its really in not difficult, and I still eat the same things I always have, I'm your age and hate to waste food as that was drilled into us as kids, but its got to be done when eating out. Another victim of the dreaded Air Bag light but in my case a Peugeot Boxer. The van had not been used for about 7 weeks and I thought I would start it in preparation for taking it in for its service and MOT the following week. No choice but to pay what you did. I know lots of people say send it to Crash Data, or similar but there are no guarantees that will work and of course you are up against the deadline for the MOT! My van is now five years old and I suppose the battery could be on the way out. It does receive some charge everyday, either from the solar panel or via the mains using a Battery Master. It certainly started ok with no hesitation.

New phone sounds great I am an iPhone man myself but my friend has the s24 and said it’s very good but I am changing mine so I would be interested on your opinion Sorry to hear about the router we also had that at home and was a firmware issue so maybe it’s the case here? Fingers crossed for news on the new van I know Stellantis have had some quite long delays on the car side I’ve had to wait almost 12 months for my new Peugeot 308 which has now arrived! It will be worth it I am sure all the best to you both and poppy Daniel

Hi. BOB. Just watched your latest video. I just had to have my airbag module changed as my 2015 Autotrail tracker EKS had been parked on my driveway for 4 weeks, plugged into mains, no problem with battery but as I started the van (first time) blasted warning came up and red airbag warning light came on and stayed on. Went to my local motorhome garage ( been using 4 years) and he said 4 different types of modules at 4 different prices. Luckily mine was the cheapest, HA !! £470 all in. Will try and find the MMM survey and complete it. Anyway keep safe keep well both of you. Kindest regards. COLIN WELLS

aww glad Poppy is ok, always a worry when they not well. Poor Jenny, glad she is ok as well, although a video would of been brilliant 🙂 Iphone all the way for me, so i am with Jenny on the phone front. So glad dogs are allowed in the indoor show now, certainly makes things a lot easier for us dog lovers 🙂 We are staying in the showground campsite, 2 nights, Saturday and Sunday, very lucky to get in, fully booked now. I've had a problem with my WiFi router on the roof recently, I tried the reset and all that, I ended up going to Vodafone who the sim card is with and they gave me a replacement sim card....its working perfect since then....Worth a try! I'm a new motorhome reviewer on here now 😊

Ohh now that’s interesting about the van, we ordered our Kontiki 784 in October at the NEC to be told it’ll be ready June/July then told it will be ready March/April, hubby phoned our dealers Friday and waiting for a call back so it’ll be interesting when we get ours, we are both looking forward to you getting yours as we’re hoping to get lots of great tips from you both as this will be our first Motorhome, we’ve had 2 caravans over the last 4 years but hoping Motorhomeing will be easier🤞🏼 take care both of you

Very interesting about the router. This happens to us. Currently away and yesterday I rebooted 3 times and again this morning. Firmware says it's the latest. Would be great if you could update us again in the future if you still have an issue. Cheers.

Hi Bought We had issues with our Avtex router and had lots of issues with it, in the end we changed the SIM card to EE and have had no issues sinse🤞 The TV and sound bar are great. So glad you are bought felling better. PS We changed our eating habits to Vegetarian now and all is going great so far. Katie & Gary

Interesting ref the airbags and the scale of it - I wonder if below a certain voltage it corrupts or something like that. Sure the truth will out at some point on it. I had a problem with glow plugs under 2 years and Fiat wanted to charge for replacement - it’s put me off Fiat (maybe disproportionately impacted by perception) but it’s not right where things aren’t fit for purpose and not being taken seriously to resolve at no charge. I had a blood test last week after a Dr sent me to A&E after I felt ill on my daily walk. He thought I had a heart attack ( I hadn't) but my results for my blood sugars were at the top end of normal. So like you, going low carb from now on. I had crept back into my old ways in recent months. Hopefully you get back into the normal zone soon. I did low carb a few years back and felt the best I had ever felt so keen to replicate that. My 2016 Ducato airbag failed after 5yrs despite being on hookup on the drive. It went to crash data and was ok still after 7 months when I sold it. I put a new starter battery on it. It still annoys me that so many have failed, even though I don't own the van anymore.

Good to hear from you. A scary statistic - at least 35% of the UK population are known to be pre-diabetic and another 15% proportion don't know they are. Hopefully the newer air module are more reliable.

Another informative video. Planning on going full time in May. Buying a swift motorhome from a friend second hand. Was really looking to having Avtex Internet router. Since you mentioned issues with dropped internet and c/s recommending firmware update, can you please keep us informed if the Avtex router is working correctlly? As for diabetes I reversed mine by losing weight, got off my medication. Watch the sugar, no sticky puddings or chocolate. 👍

Hi Bob jenny and poppy. I have just had my airbag module go for the 3rd time. Off to crash data they said it was unserviceable so they coded the latest module as the original is obsolete. Charged me £320 with discount. All fitted all working

If you need brown bread for your health then the Low GI bread that Waterfields do is excellent. They do it in pre-packed sliced and also non- sliced, however they will slice the non-sliced at the shop and it is sliced thinner and ideal for sandwiches. The shop near Lord St not so good for bread, (sorry, don't know road name) but their shop at Churchtown regularly has it in stock and sometimes they have sliced some of the non-sliced ready saving you waiting although it doesn't take long. Hope this makes sense !!. Best wishes for you health, diabetes can be a struggle but getting used to the right diet helps and doesn't have to be painful. Peter

Hi Bob and Jenny your rooter I did not get the Amtex rooter for my caravan I installed the Maxwell think it’s the same unit but over the 3 years I’ve had it it’s never let me down all over the country and I run it on 02 service. Your problum May be with your service provider. I also like outdoor shows and always goto the Newbury one seem they always have good weather and yes Poppy can also come Hope to sometime see you their.

It happens on both Vodafone and EE sims, in strong signal areas too, so it's not the providers.

Hi Bob, not sure if you solved the router problem before you changed to the new van. In my previous comment here I said I was having the same problem. Really frustrating so I thought I'd ask to have it checked under Warranty. The response from Avtex was next day (v.g) asking have I updated the firmware. I said I had checked and sent a screenshot. To cut a long story short, the button to check for the latest firmware was faulty, saying I was up-to-date. They sent the newer firmware, AMR985_R_56.06.07.24, and it now all seems to be working. Just been away for two nights without the need to reboot once!

Hi, you should seriously consider the Motorhome WiFi 5G system for your new Van. We’ve had it for over a year now and it’s been brilliant both home and abroad excellent speeds with multiple devices. I’ve got a new Adria Matrix on order and on Friday got a Chassis number for it so it will be interesting to see if it’s the facelift. I’m not convinced the new Fiat facelift variant grill looks better, I’ve also read somewhere that there is a new 8 speed Auto box on the facelift not the excellent 9 speed that’s on the current 2023 models. Only time will tell!

So you will definitely be getting the new facelift front on your motorhome then Bob? Also, you forgot to mention the Vauxhall Movano which is now the same van as the Fiat Ducato/Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay. Stellantis must be doing well sharing their van with all these different manufacturers.

I don't know if I'll get the facelifted model, all I know is they are coming out 'early 2024' according to Stellantis who are a merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group. It includes Brands: Abarth; Alfa Romeo; Chrysler; Citroën; - Dodge; DS; Fiat; Jeep; Lancia; Maserati; Opel; Peugeot; Ram; Vauxhall.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks Bob, the merger explains why the Movano is now identical to the Ducato/Boxer/Relay. Up until very recently the Vauxhall Movano has always been the same van as the Renault Master/Nissan Interstar NV400. Guessing the delays will be due to them working on 4x different facelift fronts to suit the now four manufacturers! There are usually subtle differences to the front bonnets/grilles/headlights/wings and bumpers on each of the different makes even though the rest of the van remains the same.

Lovely recipes and easy to follow. My husband and I have been on it for nearly 8 weeks, have lost weight and feel much fitter.
