Some coaches are bears in games but soft in practice. I see Knight was a bear in practice too. My HS coach was a huge fan of Knight. Luckily, he was only a bear in games though and even then only threw towels, not chairs :)

He's forgot more about basketball than I will ever know. I miss him too. Archie seems more like a throw back rather than these guys who just throw the ball out there and say play.

quite often around the opening of practice,Coach Knight was hosting a coaching clinic where many High School coaches were in attendance. To be sure everyone present could hear him, he wore a mic at practice.

Coach Knight is the best. IU did him wrong when coach Knight was wrongfully accused of choking students in practice. Now I look back, the accuser was spoiled and entitled.

Knight was a bully, plain and simple. He was able to get away with the crap he pulled because of the era in which he coached. If he grabbed one of today's players by the throat, they'd put him in the hospital, and then sue him for assault.
@turdferguson7504 Жыл бұрын
The biggest problem with what you wrote is that you prefer that to respecting authority and accepting guidance. Really telling.
@bostoncityofchampions6581 Жыл бұрын
@@turdferguson7504 - The biggest problem with what YOU wrote is that you mistake bullying people for "guiding them". I'm sure everyone who played for Knight respected his authority. But he went WAY over the line grabbing that kid by the neck, and cussing and screaming at them. The parents didn't send their kids to Paris Island to be Marines. There are MANY coaches as successful as Knight who haven't felt the need to belittle and abuse the kids that played for them. If he ever grabbed a kid of mine by the neck, he'd get his ass beat.
