As a huge fan of Duke and Letterman; I remembered seeing this decades ago. Usually these kind of interviews (after a college win) is a "Filler" but Dave really seemed enthusiastic. What a showman; what a coach.

The Warrior in the Arena is what is needed to win games....personally he is a decent and humorous person.....it's okay to dislike him or anyone, but if the person is deserving of respect for their accomplishments, then I feel that needs to be given. He is funny,,,,I don't believe that's an act....I've read too many books and articles from other players and coaches,,,he is pretty much this same guy you have seen here on Letterman.

He interviewed for the Lakers several times too, to use it as leverage at Duke and to stroke his ego. He has a long history of these things. Just like when asked, he always said he would never announce retirement before the season because he wouldn't want all the attention and distraction. Then he did just that "for the players".

Damn i never knew he was interviewed for that coaching vacancy in Chicago, Mike Krysweski would've been a legendary coach in the NBA coaching the Bulls instead of Phil Jackson taking over in '89 but he still made out very well in college!
