My reaction to the teaser trailer for the upcoming Bob Marley biopic

A lot of actors do not look like the subject of a biopic. The point is whether they embody that person. For example, Angela Bassett does not look like Tina Turner, but she got an Oscar nomination for effectively portraying Tina's spirit.

That's very true. Angela Bassett definitely embodied the character of Tina Turner. And that film was so good because of how well she portrayed her. I'm not fully convinced from the Bob Marley trailer that the actor who's playing him can do the same, but I'm hoping he'll knock it out of the park. I don't know why people focus so much on resemblance when it comes to biopic. It's hard to find a person who looks like the celebrity does/did and can act.

Yeah, true. But not impossible. And I don't think it will detract from the film. But it does take me out of the suspension of disbelief when the person looks nothing like the person they're portraying.
