Plus interview: Bob Marley is interviewed by Stephen Davies in Boston september 15, 1980. Just six days before Marley collapsed in Central Park, New York.
Stephen Davies tells Bob he has heard seven different african versions of "Zimbabwe" and Bob Marley talks about the trip to Zimbabwe. Rare interview.
Bob Marley and The Wailers released the record "Survival" in 1979. One of the tracks were called "Zimbabwe". At this time it was still Rhodesia.
In april 1980 Zimbabwe got back their independence, from England. Bob Marley and The wailers were the only guests from another country to participate as a part of the ceremony.
They were the main attraction.

In my humble opinion, this was one of Bob Marleys best concerts ever. And Carlton barrets in fine form!

This version is indeed a great live version yes, BUT I still think that the 1979 Santa Barbara version is the best.. Bob sang it with so much emotion and was pouring out his soul. The band was incredibly tight night almost sounding like a record.

Glad you enjoyed it :) Yes, I do have the whole interview, but they don't speak more about Zimbabwe. The interview is just a few days before he collapsed in Central Park :-(
