In my late twenties and early thirties, I hiked, hunted, and camped the northern Sierras. Over 50 years later, I canoe and camp. Coupla store bought knees later now. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

Great video of an amazing effort. I am in awe, I wouldn't even attempt a route like that. The mileage and time on screen was a nice touch too. BTW, I ordered your tent on Massdrop, It looks like it will be awesome, I can't wait to get it.

Do you have any decent quality (and budget) pole recommendations for use with this tent?
@durstongear5 жыл бұрын
Did you mean to post this on the X-Mid video? Probably the best value out there on trekking poles right now are the Fizan poles by Massdrop: www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-fizan-compact Those are $60 for a decent set. I reviewed them on the my blog. They're not the best poles but really good for the price: intocascadia.com/2017/10/14/review-massdrop-x-fizan-compact-poles/ Another budget option is grabbing some carbon poles off Amazon. There's tons of cheap poles on there which aren't particularly great but they're light and cheap. It's just a bit of a dice roll because you don't really know what you're getting. My favourite poles are the Locus Gear CP3 poles, which are actually just re-branded by Locus Gear and available on other sites (aliexpress, amazon) under the MBC name. You can probably find them for less money branded as MBC, but you need to do your research because they make them in different thicknesses and materials so it would be easy to buy a much heavier set.
