I'm 83 and I remember the first time I saw him on the Ed Sullivan Show. His humour was always so gentle and so relatable. I know he will be resting in peace. Thanks Bob. ❤

Bob was one of the funniest people who ever lived. He developed his own genre delivered in an excellent deadpanned demeanor!

my entire childhood was filled with enjoying Bob Newhart, and all his shows and all the guest spots. My parents loved him so. And us kids did too.

Excellent the way he starts slow and, while keeping the same dull tone, brings out more and more of the craziness on board.

They say it's all about the delivery in comedy, Bob Newhart was a comedic genius using stuttering, pauses, and subtle hand gestures also. He was a comedic natural amongst the very best.

When I was a supervisor, I used some of the way he talks when speaking to my employees and it eased them up and worked better with me than they did with the other supervisors. You just don't order workers, you also have to talk to them.

I bet soldiers disdain those who were assigned KP duty. Including cooks. Not smart to insult those who prepare your food.
