The bus fight scene was very believable-no music, no quick cuts as they had said-it shows the brutality and ugliness of a real fistfight, street-fight, because Mansell is getting his rage out, taking his time, savoring every moment even while getting bloodied up himself.

It took them months to prepare that one action sequence. Yet the Oscars refuse to give Stunt Coordinator's an Award Catagory. It seems like Stunt Coordinator's put more work in than the script writers do these days.

He also made it very realistic, as a top trained "cleaner" knowing what to do to the T, but Age and years inactive have taken their natural toll, making him find he's not the same he used to be, now much rusty and not as fast as he used to be. That added realism, with Bob acting such personal inner drama under the action moves of routine -unusual no routine moves refreshing and well choreographed, had everybody more impressed than if he was a flawless fighter killing in vertigo speed and impeccable John Wick style. This two had in hand a formidable team dynamic brought to action films hand combat routines elsewhere so predictable.

Honestly Hutch knocking off the 'rust' was the biggest things that sold me on Nobody. Don't get me wrong, I love the John Wick movies. But After years of being out of the game, his first fight back it was like he never lost a step. That ain't how life works. That's ESPECIALLY true for middle aged men.

@@Inthatgoodway It's true, it varies sometimes. But 3-5 years in your mid-late 20s to early-mid 30s isn't the same as 3-5 years in your late 30s to any point in your 40s. It's safe to assume that Wick's age is close to or the same as Keanu Reeves' which is 53 at the time of filming the first of the series. It takes a long time to hone your skills and build the reputation Wick has earned. At that age, it takes time for reflexes to come back, and longer to recover from injuries.

On the subject of having few cuts as possible in fight scenes nothing beats the corridor fight scene from the Korean version of the Oldboy film. It is epic due to the fact that it is shot in one take with no cuts and nearly 4 minutes long. For those who haven't seen it look it up on KZbin and you won't be disappointed.

he is one of the first guys to include drama and comedy not only in his movies but also in his fight scenes. He also knew how much work it is and how time consuming it is to shoot well crafted fight scenes. Thats an aspect that hollywood tends to avoid and additionaly keep the actors safe. Gareth Evans is another director who seems to understand that style, at the moment there is noone better.

Sure there are some realistic street fights in low budget movies. Sure there will be more realistic street fights in expensive ones like this. But bus scene will always stay as part of the movie history, as something to compare with. And yeah choreography is on Daniel Bernhardt and his company. And yeah they should be brought into the light more often. They try to make heroes out of punch bags and usually can't work out much. Bob Odenkirk wanted to keep up, to sweat, to bring something never seen before. For now Bob is a record holder and a living legend. Sorry for my english. Which reminds me a nice thing: a lot of russians made this movie. Directed by Ilya Naishuller.

More action movies should have these kinda 'sloppy' fights as you put it. It makes the characters human, fallible, and ultimately more relatable. Yay for Bob Odenkirk, you're my next rising action star to watch. You could give Liam Neeson a run for his money.

I have no Idea if this will ever reach Bob or the stunt crew but... when I watched the movie for the first time it was exactly as he says, I thought "what the heck is this guy doing...." and the hitting head phase was just as surprising and real... AWESOME. I've watched the movie three times in last two weeks and enjoyed it enormosly. Thank you!!!)

Yes, the more he gets into what he’s saying, the faster he talks (and the Swiss comes out).

Such an under rated movie. So glad I bought it and I really hope there is a sequel in the works. Odenkirk for the win!!

The bus fight scene is so believable because he gets messed up while doing it one of the greatest action scenes in a movie

I really liked the more longer cuts of the fight scenes. I just find to hard to follow when there are so quick cuts
