I was just talking about Bob Ross and his white oils wet on wet paint! ❤I told her not to invest in any of the products on line cuz the reviews are not good! The people who sell his products actually stole the rights from Bob Ross’s son… ugh!

So awesome. I didn't think it was possible to get a Bob Ross original, but I guess that may be just from the show. $12 at a salvation army. Wild. and $5 at a quanza hut? Lucky find.

I wasn't all that shocked - because as the appraiser said, original Bob Ross paintings from his time in Alaska just DON'T hit the marketplace or the auction floor. Says a lot when in her career she had NEVER seen an original Ross canvas "in the wild" at the Art table up until now. Bob Ross, for all the paintings he did, almost never come up for sale - especially in his earlier period stationed in Alaska. I want the one on the far left that was a commission lol

After Van Gogh died they found one of his paintings being used to patch up a chicken fence.

Never thought any of his paintings were available on the market. Those people have very nice paintings.

Bob is why I paint, It is so relaxing . It was so helpful with anxiety of dealing with the hustle and bustle of the world around us. This was a treat.

Sorry Laura. But 'The Joy of Painting' did not start on PBS in 1984 with Ross; but earlier with Ross' mentor, William Alexander - who had invented the 'wet-on-wet' painting technique. In fact, I still have a William Alexander palette knife that my dad got me for my 10th Birthday.

Bob passed in 1995 from complications of lymphoma.

Wow those have to be the rarest Bob Ross paintings I ever seen. Pre-tv show paintings are nearly unheard of. Very cool to see so many in the wild.

He painted for years up in the Fairbanks area. He'd set his table up and paint a landscape in a half-hour. He also painted landscapes on gold pans as souvenirs. Let's say he painted 30 paintings during a weekend at an arts festival...times at least 10 months a year, that would be 300 paintings right there. In 3 years that's 900paintings. Tons he had tons...often more than he could sell. He gave us ours as a going away present from Alaska. He made the frame the painting is in. I willing to bet there are well over a thousand Bob Ross paintings up there...and don't forget he sold them to Air Force, Army, and Oil Company families, who left the State to go else where. I'm sure there is an abundance of Bob Ross paintings out there.

Bob Ross's show was filmed in a small studio in Muncie Indiana. The woman who has the rights to Bob Ross is in virginia.

Yeah who is that? Rights ! What rights?? You know everything was stolen when he died… his son should have the rights to everything but it was stolen

I never liked him. I thought he was a fruitcake. I prefer Helen VanWyk She was really really an excellent oil, painter. I would love to have one of her paintings you can keep Bob Ross are the painters I prefer the watercolor artist from Australia.
