Ryan Devlin I have heard some say that his paintings aren't that good because the "detail" is horrible. Which I guess people don't get how detailed it is for the short time that he has to complete it. By the way the guy who said that said that it took him a month to do a nature scene. He has the ability to detail a lot and I mean A LOT more. But that's why I like he rather would use his extreme talent to teach others rather than to boast . So yeah it weird to dislike something that bob Ross has made cause it's pretty genuine:)

Maybe he had a lot on his mind. There are a few of them where it seems like he was sad - like when his mum had passed away, he seemed a bit low. Poor Bob had a rough last few years as far as I can tell - He was diagnosed w lymphoma in early 90s around the time his mum passed in 1991, and then his wife passed in 1993, and then he passed in 1995 - so I think it was a rough last few years. I vaguely remember being super sad when the last series ended because I got the feeling he was not well - and then he announced it would be the last episode because he needed to focus on his health, and I remember writing him a letter and feeling him I hoped he would feel better so he could come back and paint. I hope he wasn't struggling as much as I read into it at the time - and occasionally, even now, worry about when watching...

So it's 2:00 am and as I'm sitting here watching Bob's videos I keep falling asleep and have to continually start over. I just can't stop trying to watch them because, in my opinion, they're amazing. Every time I tell myself that this is the last of the night, I end up seeing a clip of another video and I'm pulled back in. I was a young child the first time I ever watched The Joy of Painting and I remember being completely blown away as Bob would take a blank canvas and turn it into an amazing work of art. Even now at the age of 40, I still find myself being blown away by the same paintings I watched him create so many years ago. Not only was Bob Ross a fantastic artist, he was an amazing human being and I feel we were all blessed to have witnessed such a kind soul in action. We would do well to try and follow in his footsteps, spreading love and kindness towards mother nature and each other. In this day and age, we so desperately need more people like Bob Ross to remind us that it's ok to be kind to one another, regardless of race, religious beliefs, sexual preferences or political stance. At the end of the day we're all humans trying to get through life the best way we can and instead of knocking each other down because of nonsensical beliefs, we should be helping each other up and to succeed because of the love and kindness that Bob Ross believed in. Thank you Bob Ross for being you and inspiring so many to create beauty and bring joy into the world as you did. May you rest in peace.

Very well spoken sir , i couldn't agree with you more . Bob infects people with his joy and kindness , inspiring them to believe in themselves and in the wise advice that Love may give to one who doesn't know which way to turn on Life's crooked Path . An ancient Sage from Nazareth spoke of a flower that scattered a rock . An ancient Sage from Liverpool said All you need is Love . An ancient Sage from India drove the English out by being gentle . The list goes on and on and on . Sharing and Caring bring Humanity and Wildlife to a better world . Destructive minds may temporarily delay but never defeat this progress . I wish you well .

Did he ever do a painting with a starry sky? I think this one would look good with a few stars in the sky.
@BrokenZen3116 жыл бұрын
I think i've seen him do stars in season 1 or 2. Used a fan brush with liquid white, and then rubbed it against the edge of the knife to kind of fling the paint onto the canvas. Really great. He also did a painting with just the knife in one of those early seasons too. Very impressive.

This one was a very colorful painting indeed! It's obvious as to why, the aurora borealis was amazing with the color, compared to the blue one in the very first few seasons. This one had a lot of color, combined with the bright trees and highlight and snow, made for a lovely vibrant and warm picture. There's not much to say other then it was a very amazing painting and I think it's one of the better ones of the season! *_I hope you enjoyed reading my happy little review~_*
