We don’t know that. For all we know his mind was a veritable hell on earth and his outward persona was an escape from it. Some of the most loving people tend to be suffering on the inside sadly. Like comedians suffering with suicidal depression.

Whenever I need to reduce stress before I sleep I open up my Bob Ross playlist. I'm a grown man, 6 foot, 210 pounds of pure muscle... but this man makes me feel secure and safe from everything in the world. His smooth caramel voice, gentle reassuring strokes, effortless wisdom... I'm happy now..... I think I will sleep. Goodnight everyone 🙂

This man right here was the man who inspired me to be an artist. I've been drawing and coloring pictures since my toddler days but I remember watching an episode of Bob Ross where he was painting mountains and trees, I was about 9 or 10, and I was so amazed and inspired by it that I painted my very first mountain landscape. And since then I've been practicing drawing and painting and I'm 19 now. I'm still practicing and I owe it all to this man right here for inspiring me with his art. May he rest in peace

He's like a director that has his film all pre-visualized in his head. Especially like his use of the knife to frame out structures and lays out the textures like magic.

He actually painted 3 versions of the same painting for each episode (reference, live on TV, a detailed version for print publications). He's got the reference he's looking at just out of frame. Still amazing though ❤️

For a guy with such a gentle demeanor, its hard to imagine him as a master sergeant in the air force. Thank Bob for you're service and contribution to the happiness of the world.👍😎

Bob Ross is the reason i want to be a kinder person. I realise I could be a better person to myself and to others. When I move to PA, I'm reinventing myself. I'm going to try to spread a little love to every person I see. They deserve it :)
