revisiting all this now. him and Bill Alexander. during covid i just stayed home and painted hundreds of wet on wet paintings. it really got me thru. i kept several, and even sold one. but one that im very proud of is my very first one i attempted. i keep it hanging up in my garage always. its so crappy, but man-i gave it a shot, and then i just kept going and learning and then eventually they started looking good. i dont paint anymore these days. but its great to know that its always out there, waiting for me when im ready again. the unjudging, loving canvas is my friend, and will always there for me if i need it. thanks Bob and Bill.

the shadows and highlights on the mountains always amaze me. it's absolutely amazing how I see these two different colours on the palette, but when they go on the canvas, it just seems so natural. it looks like its real. I don't even know how to describe it.
@udsmall73063 жыл бұрын
Bob's technique is a mastery of *fooling what the human eye sees!* It takes a person that is very observant of what they see in nature. The natural world is tricky- things are not actually what they appear to be from a distance. That's the key to Bob's mastery.

Follow his techniques, observe the tools he uses and how he holds them to the canvas, be kind to yourself, and you can create your own Bob Ross masterpiece... it is easy when you know how! I've taken several Bob Ross classes with a certified instructor and have seen students who have NEVER created any art in their life, come in, sit down to their easel and canvas, take up their brushes and paint palette, and by the end of class, they leave with their new, self-painted masterpiece... suitable for hanging in their homes!
