I freaking love how much Bob's Burgers spots a light on Drag Queens/Trans people and humanizes them instead of just dumming them down to martyr, a social/political statement or comedy relief. Also the way it paints them in a positive light. It's such nice representation.

i have always admired mr. bouchard and the producers' willing and unabashed handling of lgbt and cross-dressing in the show. other than satisfying the obvious jokes he's always treated the subject very well. since series 1 the creative team and cast have shown willing to include lgbt and drag characters as solid support characters. john roberts is family as well, so i'd imagine that helps. i can respect their adding of lgbt and drag-queen supporting cast and unlike most "progressive" sitcoms the heteronormative family makes absolutely NO mention of life-style, they simply accept the characters as who they are. social commentary without saying a word is truly wonderful to behold.
