As a recovering addict, that verse reminds me of my life in addiction. I found myself alone, surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends. That’s exactly how it was, the rest of this verse was my life, running with other junkies.

@@GinMae There are people in both camps. Obvi, I’m in the Seger camp. (Including my avatar pic, which is Bob pre facial hair) The two singers met in 78. And were friends by the time Bob was working on this album, and Springsteen was working on ‘The River’. Both were in LA, and apparently hung out after hours chatting about the records and offering advice and encouragement. Nice story.

Bob Seger was my inspiration as a singer in my youth. When I grew older, I got with a friend and we formed a band. We were popular as road house bands went and we had a lot of good times. But I always got the same old comment..."You sound a lot like Bob Seger" As I look back now decades later, I was being paid a compliment. Thank you Mr. Seger. You gave me direction. And thank you Mr. Biz, for bringing back memories I didn't even know I had forgotten. peace

Bob Seger is my favorite singer/ songwriter and storyteller. "shame on the moon","fire lake","famous final scene","like a rock", and"we've got tonight" are a few more Seger classic ballads. "Katmandu","rock and roll never forgets","fire down below","her strut","rambliin gamblin man" are a few more hard rockin classics ☮️

A great songwriter and what a voice, this is probably in my top 3 songs by the great Bob Segar, my all time favorite NIGHT MOVES. BOB started his journey way back in 1968 with the breakout classic RAMBLIN' GAMBLIN' MAN.

Bob Segar had a lot of big commercial hits, and this was one of them. While so many of his songs had extremely catchy melodies and phrasing, what makes him really stand out from other commercial acts is the incredible poetry in his lyrics.

Once again, loved your reaction. Bob Seger is, in my opinion, one of the best American songwriters! Very underrated! And, he's from Detroit. I think you can here a lot of "Motown" R&B in his vocals. I'm definitely proud to be from Michigan, with its musical history.

Bob is so cool... smooth! You can't go down the Segar rabbit hole without "Old Time Rock & Roll". No sure if you ever saw the movie "Risky Business" with Tom Cruise but it's the song he slides across the floor in his socks, underwear, & a button up shirt with a candle stick in his hand singing this. It's an iconic moment in film. "Old Time Rock & Roll" was so perfect for that scene. ✌❤🎵

Love this song! I bought this album when it first came out and nearly wore it out playing it over and over again. The entire album is fantastic. Check out Fire Lake, You'll Accompany Me, Horizontal Bop, Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight, and Her Strut, to name a few from this album. Great reaction.
