The fantastic thing about Bob Seger's music,it literally fits and describes EVERYONE'S life. Its what brings us all together by making us realize we are all more alike than we can ever realize. While difference seems great, the ways we are alike are so much more

As a recovering addict, that verse reminds me of my life in addiction. I found myself alone, surrounded by strangers I thought were my friends. That’s exactly how it was, the rest of this verse was my life, running with other junkies.

@@ms.chuckfu1088 I've heard it said the Bob Seger is the midwest version of Bruce Springsteen - but actually, I think Bob has more musical flexibility and lyrical depth -- maybe that 's cuz I'm a mid-westerner?

@@GinMae There are people in both camps. Obvi, I’m in the Seger camp. (Including my avatar pic, which is Bob pre facial hair) The two singers met in 78. And were friends by the time Bob was working on this album, and Springsteen was working on ‘The River’. Both were in LA, and apparently hung out after hours chatting about the records and offering advice and encouragement. Nice story.

Bob Seger was my inspiration as a singer in my youth. When I grew older, I got with a friend and we formed a band. We were popular as road house bands went and we had a lot of good times. But I always got the same old comment..."You sound a lot like Bob Seger" As I look back now decades later, I was being paid a compliment. Thank you Mr. Seger. You gave me direction. And thank you Mr. Biz, for bringing back memories I didn't even know I had forgotten. peace

No sure if you ever saw the movie "Risky Business" with Tom Cruise but it's the song he slides across the floor in his socks, underwear, & a button up shirt with a candle stick in his hand singing this. It's an iconic moment in film. "Old Time Rock & Roll" was so perfect for that scene. ✌❤🎵
