"If you got a 101 friends, that's a problem." I nearly fell over laughing after hearing that line. Never thought about it that way before. Sage advice from a young, old soul. Another great song & artist with wonderfully authentic reactions - although, you really can't go wrong with Bob Seger. The harmony at the end reminded me of The Eagles, a band, I think y'all would like too. Maybe you could try listening to the greatest hits of just 1 particular band every so often. I was 12 when this song came out. I was driving a combine for my dad in Perryton, TX, and I'd spend the better part of the day in the cab of it. It was his fanciest of three combines, and it had a radio in it. It was the first time I listened to the radio from sun up to sundown, so this song is pretty special to me. There were a bunch of hit songs that I'd hear multiple times a day while harvesting wheat: "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me" by Billy Joel, "Shining Star" by the Manhattans, "Steal Away" by Robbie Dupree, "Funkytown" by Lipps, Inc., "Little Jeannie" by Elton John, "Cars" by Gary Numan, "Let Me Love You Tonight" by Pure Prairie League, and dozens more, including this song and Fire Lake by Bob Seger. There are numerous songs by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band that you should hear: Old Time Rock & Roll, Still The Same, Hollywood Nights, Shame On The Moon, Even Now, Mainstreet, Rock and Roll Never Forgets, Night Moves, Fire Lake, You'll Accomp'ny Me, Her Strut, Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight, Turn The Page (LIVE), Katmandu (LIVE), Tryin' To Live My Life Without You (LIVE), Like A Rock, Shakedown, The Fire Down Below, Till It Shines, We've Got Tonight, Railroad Days, and Get Out Of Denver just to name a few. A bunch. Whatever.

I remember when this song hit the radio. I was young and wondered what it would be like looking back one day. Now I know. Great reaction!

This is the kind of music my parents listened to when I was growing up, and I've always loved Bob Seger's voice. Some of his most popular hits you should react to: Old Time Rock & Roll; Turn the Page; Kathmandu (pronounced Cat-man-doo); and my personal favorite, Beautiful Loser.

I also requested Beautiful Loser. I must have gone through at least 100 comments before I finally found yours for Beautiful Loser. But you really can't go wrong with any song by Bob Seger!

Bob Seger, huge collection of great songs. Against the Wind is a favorite. It makes me teary eyed now, but didn't have that effect when I was younger. Love you two, you bring such honesty.

You can never go wrong with Bob Seger. All story telling songs. A couple of other greats from him are Turn The Page, Still The Same, and Like A Rock. Those are among his best. :-)

"Turn the Page" PLEASE!! Bob Segar is so underrated as a singer and writer! He's definitely one of the dark horses that snuck up on the Countdowns in the 70's and early 80's!! This song kind of depicts his struggle and who he actually could depend on throughout! He was "Against the Wind" Metaphorically speaking!
