We've got Tonight is one of his best. It's sexy, and melancholy all at the same time.That hint of desperation and loneliness in the lyric as the guy tries to convince the girl to stay over. Thar song and Roll me Away have such a punch to them. But after I saw "Mask" I never really listened to Roll Me Away the same way, the way the song ends the film.

@gauntletwielder63064 жыл бұрын
Dan Smith - Like everyone else, you are entitled to your opinion. However, “We’ve Got Tonight” shows the impressive range of Bob Seger’s vocals and talent. Not of all his tunes are foot stomping, blood pumping music. And “We’ve Got Tonight” is one of those tunes that always stops me in my tracks and makes me fondly remember a dear friend. I miss her. I am going to guess you do not like “Beth” by KISS either.... Even though it is their most successful tune. How about “Open Arms” by Journey? Or do you only like “Any Way You Want It” and “Don’t Stop Believing”?

Just wanted to tell you-my husband of 31 years turned me on to your channel. I really love that younger adults are reaching back & reacting to the classics that we grew up listening to-I’m 54, so some 60s, 70s, & early 80’s was and is our soundtrack, and we remember every word. Because...at that time, it didn’t matter how good looking you were (or not) because for us music was almost a 100% audio medium-listening to the radio ALL the time. Musicians then HAD to be truly talented, be able to play, sing, without auto tune etc... Storytelling to good solid music. Then, MTV came along in 1984 and started changing the game. Anyway, I would love it if you would react to the late, great Leon Russell sing “This Song is for You”-the live studio version, long hair and aviator glasses. This man played piano as a studio musician for an incredible list of great singers. Enjoy!
@leica00004 жыл бұрын
@alicia sounds very similar - I was a teenager when this stuff was coming out, love seeing younger folk loving the music we loved.
@southernborn13584 жыл бұрын
I agree, guys! I vividly remember the first real “music video” I saw- and yes, it WAS pretty cool- it was “ Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits, completely animated, in a strange, blocky way (the birth of computer programming graphics) but yeah, we loved it! If only we knew then... nah, change had come, nothing would have stopped it. My husband (who was a pro bluegrass musician for years) & I could come up with a couple dozen GREAT songs to react to without even giving it much thought, and I’m sure you guys could too! Jamel AKA Jamal, you have some credible sources for ideas in this thread!🤩😎. I just feel very strongly that a great deal of current “music” well, not even in the same LEAGUE as the legends of our time-yes, our music had TONS of innuendo (which went RIGHT over my head at the time!!), but so much of today’s music is more about how directly dirty can the lyrics BE, effects, shock value, artists that can’t play/sing-it simply doesn’t interest me. I do appreciate today’s good country & bluegrass pickers since that’s what my hubs did (plus our younger daughter is a high school band director/color guard coach who got a degree in Music Ed)- have any of you guys seen or heard Billy Strings? If not-omg, look him up! He is THE BEST flat pickin acoustic guitar player I’ve ever seen! Billy Strings, with his group, playing “Dust in a Baggie” for the Grand Ole Opry. You. Will. Be. Amazed.😎🙀🤩🎼🎤

I'm Detroit bred. 66 years old, been chasing "Rockin Robert" since I was 12. Followed him at 14 when I was old enough to hitch hike. (Yeah) All over S.E. Michigan, down into Ohio, and every bar in Ann Arbor Mi. that would let us in the back door. (Back then there were plenty.) He was a local legend forever until the "Live Bullet" album and KISS took him in to tour with them. After that, he exploded. Now, when the kids are just finding him, I know in my heart a "second life" joy that others are learning what this cat has ALWAYS been about.

He took the stage, the crowd stood up and they didnt sit down till the show was over........hit after hit after hit. I didnt realize the man had so many hits. Loved how he was very interactive with the crowd, introducing each song and talking about its origins. What a wonderful human being sharing a whole lotta love that night. Plus he payed homage to the many great artists who have passed with a running collage in the background. Such a beautiful human being. Jamal, you would have loved him!
