Great time in 76 , life was simple. No drama , and kids these days don't know how good it was, not like now drama and they can't live without phones

At this point in time Bob Seger must be the only performer on planet Earth without some sort of officially released concert DVD... I just cannot for the life of me understand why.

Tell us about it. Besides all the Hardcore Local Metro detroit Silver Bullit band fans. But especially for us Drummers, there is no nothing about the amazing Charlie Allen Martin that kicked some Royal Ass in this band. Now , i am a friend of Charlie and i played drums in his Band that he put together in 1996. so i got to experience his Musicianship and Stage presence. But it is even for him a Mystery why there is no Professional Concert OR any Studio Footage available. Cause they recorded some Music together in Toronto as Charlie was telling me. There is so much cool History there, relatively short with Charlie on Drums obviously due to Horrific Accident he had to endure . Just when the band was about to start really cookin' and taking off for Europe this happened in early 77'. So if ANYONE has ANY Footage from back in the Glory Days, please share them here.

@@ericwilhelm2941I was a drummer in a cover band back in the early 90s until about 2001. Couldn't tell you exactly what year it was but I'm thinking 98 or 99 - we were playing at Mr B's in Troy, MI (the one at Wattles and Rochester Rd) and Charlie Martin came in and sang a few tunes. I was about 21 or 22 years old and I honestly don't remember if he brought a few guys with him or if we backed him up, but he sounded great and it was a neat thing for me being a Seger fan but a little too young to remember the 70s Seger era.

Santa Cruz beach late 80s someone invited my friend and I to bog seger party. I remember they said he had a house in hills mountains somewhere in Santa Cruz. I also heard these were massive parties huge. I was into black Sabbath scorpians, priest music. But I remember everything bod seger released was on billboard top 10. Everything between night moves and against the wind was success, probably even before and after that. Bob segar must be on artist with the most hit songs all time. Bob segar never followed music fashion trends. He was just Bob segar

Me and 80,000 of my closest friends were there at the Silverdome in '76. I had been transferred to Detroit in '74 never having heard of Seger. The neighbors I met there, all Detroit natives, quickly changed that. Five couples made the trip to Pontiac. Todd Rundgren and Elvin Bishop as warm up bands! I've been a major fan ever since and have made it a point to see him live whenever possible wherever I have been. San Diego, LA, Philadelphia and, most recently, last year in Raleigh, NC, with Grand Funk Railroad. He never disappoints. And, I have a buddy who was involved in the music business in Detroit in the 70's and 80's. He tells me that Seger is truly one of the good people in rock and roll. A true gentleman. Hopefully, he continues to be healthy and tour .

Being from Philly, the name Bob Seger didn't mean much here until Night Moves. My cousin was engaged to a girl from Muskegon, MI in the early 1970s, meeting her through her cousin who lived here. When he went there to see her in Michigan, he went to a concert with Seger and The Marshall Tucker Band. When Marshall Tucker ended their set, he said he told his soon-to-be brother-in-law, "Let's go, we saw who we came for." He was told, "All these people came to see the next band. You may never have heard of him, but everyone's here to see Bob Seger". My cousin said, "I had to admit, he was right. He was the best act of the show, and I really like Marshall Tucker." He told me he was a fan ever since. Once Night Moves was released, so was I.

I have many. This was before the album "night moves" had come out, but I remember him announcing a song a song called Mary lou. He also did "Back in 72. When he came out, the audience was so loud, you could bairly hear "Hey Detroit!" On Nutbush, he included the third verse, that starts work fields on weekdays. And when he got to the part where he said quiet, low commuity, the audience went wild. And I remember he had a big smile on his face. And he just said "we love you Detroit"

Saw him at the legendary concert in Bay City MI in '78. 26,000 on a High School football field. Brownsville Station and Salem Witchcraft opened. Van Halen was a featured opener for him, Cheap Trick was supposed to be there but canceled. When Segar came on I remember moving with the crowd until I was 25 ft from the stage. Crowded in so tight I could barely breathe yet it was undoubtedly one of the most electrifying nights of my life. Seger blew everybody away, even Van Halen.

1976, my very first concert. I still have the ticket stub, $8.95 general floor seating but very close to the stage. A surreal moment was when I looked back at the audience, during the encore, and saw a sea of lighters from the ground up to the rafters and of course the smell of weed in the air.

I got a great book I think on Amazon some years ago called, "Travelin' Man: On the Road and Behind the Scenes with Bob Seger" by Tom Weschler and Gary Graff. There's a great bit in it where he's talking about this particular concert. He said: "The show itself was huge - a big deal. They sold out; it was a great show. Seger did an excellent job - but he wore this white suit, like Elvis. Some of the guys on the crew were like, 'What the f&*k is that suit about?' Although none of them would say anything to Bob about it. After [that show], though, I never saw that suit again."

Hey Marty, nice to hear from someone who was there!I am sure the entire concert has been captured somewhere.I got this footage from a guy in the US who ran a fan club dedicated to Seger in the 70s.Apparently this medley was aired in cinemas. It was supposed to be aired on Sugarmans Midnight Special as well.My VHS footage is second generation & not great so I had it touched up to try and lift the quality a little.Colours had washed a bit. Would love to hear about your memories of the that night.

I had main floor tickets. When "Beautiful loser came on, the girl beind me noticed I wasn't clapping along, so she took my two hands and pushed them together. I remember it was loud and yet clear. I later found he had purchased the lodest sound system. Maybe he heard about the Aerosmith concert. I guess he wanted to make sure everyone could hear him. I remember on nutbush, the crowd erupted in the middle were there's just the bass. I had never heard a crowd that loud in my life. I agree with you, the concert must have been captured somewhere and I wish there was a way to see it.

Bob Seger has always been the consummate performer. (Even now, back problems and all.) But back in the day, he was on fire. Sure wish I had been around to see him perform live in the 1970s and 1980s. But, alas, like so many other diehard Seger fans, I missed out on all that intoxicating intensity and blazing beauty. . . . So, if there is footage of him performing LIVE, at Cobo Hall, and elsewhere, please make it available for the world to see. We need that now, more than ever. (P.S. Just read that Bob is going to be on "The Simpsons" this coming Sunday, 30 May 2021. Stream it. Set your DVRs. Whatever. Spread the word. Thanks!)

Damned straight he was, the man was a beast on the drums, the bottom end of the original Silver Bullet Band with Chris Campbell and Charlie Martin was beyond compare in my opinion as well....Tragic how he was not able to bathe in the success he was a such an important part of creating. The man sure took the situation and attacked life with what was handed to him, it says so much about the man himself. A story that should be told...
