This was about the middle of his career. He has 6 decades worth of hits. Great story teller. My favorites r night moves and we've got tonight.

You know I am 70 and the last 28yrs have been with a Proverbs 31 wife and one thing we can count on even though the wind is against us KING JESUS said we are going to the other side and you know what we are going to the other side HE is in the boat with us.

1st verse , a young man in his 20's . Verse 2 , 40 something & still searching , Verse 3 aging out & reminiscing ..... the song pretty much describes my life story arc .

Many things I wish I didn't know now that I didn't know then. Conversely, many things I know now that I wish I knew then.

Great & meaningful song! Sadly find it hard to listen to most Segar songs due to hearing them over & over again! When was younger our family took a long road trip. My Aunt's BF played cd of Segar's greatest hits ALL the way down & half way back! Me & cousin were like: "if I gotta hear against the wind 1 more f-ing time..." My cousin wound up smashing it with a rock while they were in rest stop bathroom. He was POd but we got to listen to the radio the rest of the way Took forever before I could appreciate his music again. For years I would simply skip one of his songs if it popped up somewhere

Bob Seger was so superbly backed up by the Eagles at the end of this song. Eagles sang the background vocals.

The song may be old but the story in the song is the same today as it was then, as the next generation goes through the same “growing pains”.

Thanks, kids... Bob Seger has been called "the midwest version of Bruce Springsteen".. but I actually think he is a better songwriter and singer... everything is so evocative... appreciate your reaction..

Sometimes the wind is ourselves and the order inwhich we prioritize the entities within our realm, especially our relationship with Jesus.

Bob sings with soul and sings Ballard's to fast paced rock. He has a large catalog with hit after hit. Some of his songs you both have probably heard and just didn't know it was Seger.

I’d like to hear your take on one of Joplin’s sadly neglected sleepers from that era: “Farewell Song” on the album “Live at Winterland ‘68” by Big Brother and the Holding Company featuring Janis Joplin. - -
