This is what I believe are the requirements but that’s just from brief research and it might be wrong. However, I highly suggest not getting a wolf and instead just getting a big dog because unlike dogs, wolves are wild animals and are far stronger and more temperamental than their domestic counterparts.

I suspect my husky is a wolf mix. He does the same thing to express affection. We found and rescued him from wilderness when he was estimated about six weeks old, a poor puppy in dire condition. Now he grows into a big boy, healthy, strong, happy, smart. What a rewarding experience! Please be kind to animals.

You should do a DNA test, it would be very worth it to find out if he is one. I am pretty sure there are certain signs to tell if a dog is a wolf dog though, like the golden eye color and how their chest is shaped, and size of course

@ we did have a DNA test, it took the test company a few months to get a result, and the result was not conclusive. My dog does not have brown eyes, he has beautiful blue eyes instead.

Which is good news, you likely don’t have a wolfdog. Not a desirable trait for a pet, they require specialized care and nutrition (while they are the same species, dogs evolved with humans for thousands of years, making dogs and wolves require totally different diets) like this channel provides for her animals. If he is mixed with GSD, that could be why he may look “wolfy”.

Growing up we had a wolf dog, her name was Missy. She waa solid white. She lived a long and happy life. Towards the end , she got arthritis and started to really bad days some days it was really hard for her to get-up-and-get moving. We did everything we could for her. My uncle had just gotten A new dog , which was a german shepherd and for some reason that dog decided to attack me one day Missy came running full speed like she did when she young and healthy. She got that dog off of me. Ill never forget her.

Adrenaline is a powerful thing (I’m assuming that it works in much the same way for humans and other mammals). People have done some extraordinary things in an adrenaline rush, some of which don’t seem physically possible and probably wouldn’t have been believed if not for witnesses. Kind of its whole purpose, I guess. Getting out of fight or flight situations that require a bit of extra physical assistance. Some of the most impressive happen when protecting someone they love. Missy probably wasn’t feeling much pain in those seconds it took for her to react. It says a lot about how much she loved you that she was able to move that fast even with arthritis and possible mobility issues. Sounds like she had one heck of an adrenaline rush when she saw you in danger.
