For a man, it would be an attritive prospect because all they need to do is the fun stuff, biologically speaking. The woman is the one who gets to carry it around for the better part of a year and then give birth to it, so they're typically less excited about big families. All that, and Rayla still doesn't hate the idea.

You know I actually think Callum's interaction with Runaan and Ethari went really well. He's not dead and Ruthari supports Rayla's relationship with him. I mean Ethari is a lot more sweeter, and it's nice to know he has a good humor and laughed instead of getting uncomfortable during the Callum's Earthblood elf impression and the 10 babies part 😂 😂.Runaan however yeah he is harsh but good side the both of them are alive. 0:33 I appreciate how he just proceeded to munching the grubs, he was probably telling himself not to kill the human that got him out of the coin and helped Rayla get him out of the Banther Lodge. I can imagine 7 years from now how this family would look like, maybe not with Rayllum's 10 babies but watching them live a wonderful life together as family. 💜💚💙

I was thinking, given both Runaan's prejudice against humans and his last experience with a human mage, that Runaan would have been firmly against Callum, especially as a suitor for Rayla. Maybe the writers thought the idea was too predictable? My headcanon is that this little _Romeo and Juliet_ situation would have happened if Callum hadn't publicly renounced his position and loyalty to his brother to defend Rayla; prejudice or not, I feel like that would have impressed Runaan, maybe enough to get him to a neutral stance, and from there he steadily built up some respect for the kid.

Magic, excitement, enchantments, comedy, drama, wonders, imagination, mysteries, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. It's great to see Callum getting to know Rayla's parents very well in season 7 this year. Runaan and Ethari treat him respectfully and equally. Rayla is glad too. I like Ethari for his kindness and sense of humor. Callum is also getting to use to the Silvergrove when doing the best he can to please those gay Moonshadow elves, even though a bit nervous. But he's giving it a shot for Rayla's sake. And who would have thought Runaan is spending some time with the boy on their mission to stop Aaravos and Claudia from bringing eternal darkness and sees a good heart in him? I guess it took a while for that elf understand Callum better since they last saw each in season 1. Looks like they are being a different kind of family. After all, Runaan and Ethari are the loving fathers of Rayla and start treating the young human mage as if he was their own son. Good thing Runaan takes Callum's side whenever trouble comes. Happy for Runaan, Ethari, Callum, and Rayla. Nothing ceases to amaze me with magic. I believe in fairies and magic! No growing up. Magical things happen.

I've seen some people bashing this part of the season as "filler," but I think it's quite important for both the pacing and the characters. This isn't the kind of show that can be all heavy all the time, so some levity helps keep the tone in check. It's also important in establishing how much Runaan has to lose, making his plea to Ezran for mercy all the more meaningful, as well as establishing trust between him and Callum so Callum could entrust his plan to kill him to defeat Aaravos to him instead of Rayla.

Rayla & Callum are now the only straight relationship I can think of in a show. Others are all gay mostly. Even if there is one it gets ruined by one dying or breaking off cuz the partner is toxic.

Yes she is adopted! When she was younger her parents left for the dragon guard and runaan and Ethari were her parents best friends. So they asked runaan and Ethari to look after Rayla but they ended up raising her fully so she considers them her dads and they consider her, their daughter!
