This runner shape looks like it would be a lot simpler to work in a Saxon style rolle wich would be rurned continuously (housed in a bakest or on a book rest) I didn't know what styles were available to me but started with a book explaining some of the different traditions. Ps. I have been doing some amount of shuttle tatting because that is a lot easier to just bunch into my pocket

I find it useful in many ways to see how you not only move your pattern but also how your board is set up and wrapped for use! If I may ask a question, could a thick yarn or string be used let's say to make a top that would go over a swim suit? I am curious too if making these long patterns how do you put them together or can you side by side to make a bigger fabric? Thank you for sharing!

You can absolutely make lace out of thicker thread! 😊 There is a technique for sewing together lace pieces! I will try to find a video to post!

Is the work that tight that it holds its shape (mostly) when you remove it, or do you lightly spray some kind of starch on it prior to removal?

No need to spray this one with a stiffener! 😊 It will keep its shape bc of the way it’s woven together.

Yup! 😊 The wooden pieces are called bobbins. The number needed depends on the width of the piece. This piece uses 80 bobbins.
