I stumbled on a how-to video. This is a lot easier than it looks. Cross and twist, one goes right, the other goes left, pull tight and pin. Follow the pattern.

How do you know how much thread (or embroidery floss?) to use on a project, and what happens if you run out in the middle?

Usually measuring 3x the length of the project you're working on should be enough thread. But if you do run out, it's not a problem to tie more thread on to keep working! :)
