If fdj plays pedri is forced to play upfront more like cam, just like in Spain and that takes away his best ability as midfielder. If I'd to choose I prefer playing pedri in deeper role rather than fdj there. Some might argue that fdj is necessary to control and slow down the game, but so far gavi in his cameos also can do that, with higher defensive intensity

@ at the moment we don’t know how much he appreciates Araujo,since he did not recovered yet,and because of this he didn’t played a single minute under Flick. So saying he is appreciated more than anyone else ,is nothing more than speculation. What is clear ,is the fact that,Flick likes players whose are able to stick to the tactic,and on the top of it they could offer something extra. Araujo could deal with situations when pure physical power is necessary,while Cubarsi could deal with situations where a defensive intelligence needed. Tactically Cubarsi reached Araujo’s level. Since he is just 17 he easily could reach Araujo’s physical level as well. When it comes to speed Araujo’s top speed is 34,5km/ h while Cubarsi’s is 31,7 km/ h . That’s what they ever reached as fastest for a very short time. The difference is not as much as anyone is expecting. And in a short distance ,with a better reaction time and better positioning could annulling this difference easily. Also don’t forget ,Cubarsi is not at his peak,he is still developing ,his stats will still improving,while Araujo is around 25 (26 in March) ,which means he is at his peak,at his best ever form. And the top of it he would be back from a serious injury,which could effect his speed significantly! So please stop coming up with guessing and speculating,how much more important Araujo is than anyone else. We don’t even know if Araujo could deal with Flick strategy. To being the part of it,he have to have a very high awareness,also he have to be in a perfect sync with his CB pair and the rest of the defensive line as well. First let’s see if Araujo could match with those requirements. We have seen Cubarsi and Inigo to deliver matches with hardly any faults ( I mean any major faults which could create danger if penalties or cause problems because of the yellow/red cards. Cubarsi played 17 games and he have 1 (!!!!!!!!!!) yellow card in total ! One single yellow card after 17 matches ! That’s nearly a half season in the league (19 matches) ,with one single card as a CB. Araujo had 37 games last season he had a single yellow in 8 matches,double yellow in one match and 1 straight red,that’s 11 cards in 37 games ! It’s almost 1 card per 3 games ! Cubarsi and Inigo together played 33 games and they have 5 yellow combined ! Araujo alone had more than double ! And the team wasn’t playing such a risky defensive style! . So as I said ,Araujo will have a lot to learn from Cubarsi. You can be the fastest player on the planet,it still wouldn’t help for your team if you couldn’t play because of your cards. If your timing is not spot on,your positioning is not spot on ,you still can lose the race against a slower opponent,while if those are on the spot ,you can beat faster ones . It’s not a marathon,or 400 meters. Usually you run less than 50 meters.

In an all over comparison,he is not necessarily better than Cubarsi. Especially in a type of team like Barca ,when the defenders have crucial role to bring the ball out against other high pressing teams. He is horrible when it comes to passing,especially under pressure. He is one of the ( if not THE) weakest link when it comes to passing in the whole Barca defence. If he could significantly improve that part of his play ,he could be an absolute beast.

What many people says about Peña is a bit misleading. I understand when it comes to judging a keeper,the first thing what everyone is going to check ,is the number of goals he conceded. But it’s not giving a real picture about THIS Barca team. Inigo conceded goals every single game ( or almost ever single game) . It wasn’t because of him,countless of them been disallowed. The offside trap saved him to conceding double digit of goals just in 3-4 matches ! Crvena,Madrid,Bayern and the game before ,he could end up conceding around 10 goals if not the perfect offside trap. That is not what makes the defensive line stressless. It’s putting even more pressure on them. Also the guy leaves the box often,which is great . Normally great… many times he leave the box when the defender clearly could reach the ball easily with no pressure by the opponent. And also many times he took the ball away from the defender and kick it away ( mostly out of the pitch) ,which means he gives the ball away! While if he stays inside his box ,the defender could get the ball passing to him and Barca would keep the ball,and could start to build an attack. I can’t see him to keep the starting position for long. The number of balls been giving away by him is a luxury against mid table ( or better ) teams . The team have 4 difficult games left in the UCL ,at least 3 of them are against teams which could punish us instantly after a mistake like this. It could be crucial to see what is Szcesny level at the moment . It should be crucial for the coach as well. The hard work during the training not necessarily will give the right answer . He should show himself during an official match to see is it worth to rely on him if anything happened with Inaki or not. He have high reputation,but it would be him and not his reputation who have to step up if something happens.

We lack a bit of speed and physicality in the back line. Now what’s interesting is to see how it’s going to play out between Iñigo and Cubarsí. But as far as Araujo, he’s good for sure.

I think that he will be coming off the bench this half of the season. But after the Christmas break, things will be different. Araujo has had time to adapt to the team style, and that combined with his physicality makes him better than any of the other CBs in the team. I think another factor will be how Flick will choose to approach certain games. Araujo's recovery from a strikers run is unrivalled, so perhaps teams that dribble around CBs will require a player Araujo's profile.

Sell Christensen, Ferran and play more pablo torre as a 8 to give him more confidence and give pedri some more rest. Get a an amazing one on one creative winger who can create and score like nico or leao. Arajo is great one on one defender will be amazing when we play against a more evolved mbappe and vini. Cubarasi is playing exceptionally well and inigo has been a great mentor to him, he but also needs to take a breather take slow steps to evolve (work on his header game and become a goal threat in set pieces with inigo). Casado and cubarasi have taken up a lot of creative responsibility. We also need to manage injuries better do we need more squad rotation. I think the Sociedad game was crucial for flick to take step back and get creative with the line ups.

Injured araujo is still better then Martínez!!!!! And cubarsi still lacks and needs more experience he commits some very imprudente fouls! We need defenders that actually defend balde just isn't very good we can trade for grimaldo or frimpong.. we get scored on every game we need CLEAN SHEETS and either 2 of these balde Martínez or kounde need to be replaced id give cubarsi more opportunities since he's so young, but araujo is better then Martínez way better.. our defense lacks defense lol and is imbalanced due to the players that just don't correlate Martínez doesn't correlate well with balde nore kounde with cubarsi because kounde isn't a natural fullback while like I mentioned cubarsi need more experience and that help from Martínez but then what help does Martínez get if balde just gives up and doesn't follow his runs or tracks back makes the whole defense look bad all,because they don't correlate correctly!!!
