I went to a PT for upper back pain expecting to get an earful about being hunched over and I was surprised that the first thing she suggested was adjusting the tilt of my pelvis by pulling my tail bone down. She did also give me some similar exercises for the shoulder and back, but the pelvic thing really shocked me.

@michaelduffy68743 ай бұрын
I'm completely unable to do these wall or floor practices successfully because I have a strong curvature in my upper back resulting from the vertebrae being (for whatever reason) somewhat conical rather than cylindrical. I've seen this on an MRI. I believe it may be what is called Scheuermann's kyphosis. It's not pretty, but I'm approaching 80, and it doesn't cause me any pain or discomfort. I wonder if anyone else suffers (if that's the right word) from a similar condition. I have mentioned it here before.

I have MS and use a rollator for balance when walking. I have good posture when sitting and standing. But the design of rollators make it extremely difficult to not bend over. If I take average size steps, my legs (just above the knee) bang into the seat which is uncomfortable. This does not happen when I bend over. If the handles on rollators were longer, we'd be able to walk slightly further back and avoid this problem. Any suggestions?
@louisel50093 ай бұрын
Usually the seat can be folded up while walking, so that you can walk closer.
@funwithfido24303 ай бұрын
@@louisel5009, I've purchased and used many rollators in the 16 years that I've needed one. Some seats do not fold up. The ones that do, have a bar for the seat to rest on when the seat is down. So I'm banging into that bar instead. Since it's a metal bar, that's worse than bumping into the seat.
@louisel50093 ай бұрын
@@funwithfido2430 Sorry that doesn't work for you. Maybe because I am short raising the seat gives a couple of more inches ( until the bar), so it helps me.
