So glad you made this video. I think I have the patellofemoral problem. Had it since my late 20’s. It would hurt off and on but since putting odd angled leverage on my legs hips and knees lifting my grt aunt it hurts when I bend it and grinds and cracks terribly. Thank you.

Hey! Just in time. I do have a lot of cracking in the knees, non painful thankfully but I would very much like to get rid of it.

I have this since I was a little boy. As I learned more, I started to worry that it might develop into a painful damaged joint. I have started doing exercises to improve my hip mobility and strength. There is no bad things happened yet. But I have to do something about it.

When trying to squat, sliding down my back to the wall, top of knees are giving rigid click, really a cascading sound both sides 🙏 bless you boys!
@Poke20193 жыл бұрын
Eskimos have 20 words for ice. Squats should have 20 names too. You can do them so many different ways. Careful choosing a squat that somebody told you is right such as “back against the wall is easiest on tour joints” for me it’s the opposite. Find a position that accomplishes what you want to accomplish and is comfortable. Sumo/ballet squats for example The goal is to know what’s right for your body and not to have a list of exercises you simply check off a list

@@BobandBrad It will help me a lot. Thank you so much. May I know what I should watch for my injured knee. I injured my knee 3 years ago when I was 17 years old. When I played basketball I twisted my right knee then it become swollen I am not sure what really happened to my knee because I didn't go to a doctor because I can't afford it. I can hear some popping and clicking sound whenever I bend it and it hurts whenever I walk until now.

You have just explained so much about knee sounds that I often hear in clients - they always want to work through it - I think limiting range of motion to keep pain away is the ticket. Thanks, Boys!
@anyascelticcreations3 жыл бұрын
Limiting range of motion usually causes more permanent loss of range of motion. I would not be recommending that to anyone. People don't need to push through to the point of causing pain. But they do need to take steps to keep and improve their range of motion.
@JustBreathewithRachelGreene3 жыл бұрын
@@anyascelticcreations I agree, what I often say to clients is that we'll work (bending the knee) to the edge of that pain like we're hitting an electric fence. Our goal is to increase the size of the "yard" by strengthening other muscles around the knee that don't necessarily require bending (straight leg lifts, calf raises, etc). THEN the ROM of the bend increases. Hope that clarifies my comment. Have a great week.
@anyascelticcreations3 жыл бұрын
@@JustBreathewithRachelGreene That makes more sense. It sounds like you have a good handle on it. You have a great week, too.

Last Christmas I was told to stop taking Naproxen. Two days later my neck locked up. About 2/3 weeks later mid morning with no warning my knees refused to bend. 10 months later I need two new knees. My neck has freed up following your exercises but I get pain inside the skull at the back of the head caused by movement, Car journey or just moving the head back and forward. Warning to all do not take Naproxen for extended periods. I took half a dose for 10 years due to whiplash injuries.
@halfabee3 жыл бұрын
I was told to stop taking naproxen due to chronic acid reflux and I had been hospitalised twice each time for a week due to small bowel blockage. I also had multiple small bowel blockages which cleared on the way to A&E or waiting for the GP to phone back.

I have all of the clicking, popping and grinding In my right knee.I'm terrified to have knee surgery and I'm only 50 so the surgeons don't want to do it until I'm on the other side of 60 because the surgery only lasts for 10 years?? Let's hope technology gets better soon!

Just an fyi. My mom had bone on bone in her hip. She had it replaced last year. She says she's in so much pain still that she wishes she had her old messed up hip back. I also hope for your sake that they can improve these surgeries before you need to do it.

So typically you do want to wait “as long as possible” but once it starts really affecting your quality of life it’s time to consider that an option! Wishing you the best of luck 🤍
@jorgiok80063 жыл бұрын
If you won't be undertaking a surgical procedure (absolutely fine and valid approach) the best thing you can do for your joint is to strengthen it as much as possible to try and prevent/slow down further damage. For a joint like the knee one of the best approaches you can take is building strength through the quads and abductors (muscles on the outside of the leg). Strengthening through those muscles helps support the joint by ensuring the knee doesn't naturally fall into a compromised position (knocked knees for example). You could give strengthening exercises a chance (squats, leg press, crab walks, lunges) and keeping the joint as mobile as possible (a prof of mine always said motion is lotion) which will hopefully act as a preventative approach and might reduce the rate at which the injury worsens! Best of luck!
@rolannebouchard3563 жыл бұрын
@@anyascelticcreations good grief. Sorry to hear that your mom's hip still hurts, sometimes they need to go back in and smooth out the socket where the new hip joint was placed. It could be a spur of bone causing her pain. Did she go in and have it X ray? Maybe consider a recheck of the joint or a chiropractor visit or two may help get better movement with less pain. Good luck to her. That's no way to live when they tell you that you will feel better after the surgery.
@anyascelticcreations3 жыл бұрын
@@rolannebouchard356 Thank you for the kind words. I'm not sure of all the details because she and my dad take care of her medical stuff together. But I do know that she had it rechecked and was told that it was supposedly okay. Just this past week, though, a new doctor told her that the lift she wears in one shoe was a half inch too short. So, apparently her surgeon didn't check her very well since they didn't notice that her leg was too short even with the lift. I suspect there is probably more about the situation that is wrong, too. But no one seems to want to do anything about it. My mom is barely able to walk even with a walker, though. And she's only 71. I really hope for your sake that you have a better experience than she has.

In my forties, my knee seemed to click and pop at the most inappropriate times, like while touring a building during a job interview. It popped off and on during my thirties and just got worse. Then, it just stopped as I approached 50. I will be seventy soon, and it no longer clicks or pops.

Bob, and Brad.. I've had a knee injury from one time where it got overstretched. After I dislocated my other foot and became bed bound, and after starting to walk on crutches 3 months later I noticed that that knee, and sometimes the other would dislocate, and when that happened the tendon would get really painful. Even if it was a brief dislocation. I noticed that doing squats made the pain go away completely, but due to the lockdown I couldn't train anymore and it came back. Could this also happen from weak quadriceps? I feel like mine are just too weak to keep the knee in place. From what I know about joints (elbow, knee) it's that they don't do anything and any issues they have come either from above the joint (quads, hamstrings) or below the joint (calves). Is that correct?
@anyascelticcreations3 жыл бұрын
You can still do squats even during lockdown. Since they helped you before I would say to carefully start them again. Squats do strengthen the quads. So, that does fit with what they were saying.
