It's not about putting all the crap from your old bag to the new bag. It's about protecting what's in it. I too have to carry less after switching but turns out over time you'll realize it wasn't needed anyway. I like the fact it reminded me just because you could doesn't mean you should. Like most people they keep packing the bag because it fits and end up with a huge bag on their back which looks ridiculous.
@jcunboxing8 жыл бұрын
I can see where you're coming from Frank and I agree in someways with what you're saying. However for me, one of the main gripes I had with this backpack was that it was hard to access the stuff in transit which I often need to do. Now that's totally the idea that XD Design are going for as it is anti-theft and supposed to be hard to access, but where I live, theft isn't that common so there isn't much of a need for me to use this as a daily backpack. But if I were to go to another country or place where theft is common, I would for sure use this bag.
@iZilly7 жыл бұрын
You need to evaluate what you need to bring around, who need 3 pairs of headphones and if you have an iPad/laptop/phone with you, why use a journal? I am sure i could have easily fitted all the stuff you have in there much better. It is a nice bag pack and i would surely consider getting one for myself as my normal backpack is really getting old. practice your "Tetris" game and try redo the packing :)

Bought one. Looks great, gives good protection. At the same time, you can't put a lot of stuff in it. So either you need to organize very precisely so you can still close the bag, or just don't take a lot with you. I used to have a laptop plus my fitness clothing and shoes in my old bag, which was actually a lot smaller, but can't do it in this bag. It takes way too much time and effort to stuff it in without spending much time and frustration organizing and closing the bag.

You are suppose to fold the straps up so the extra length unused doesn't dangle at all. In fact you won't even see the extra straps. External battery can be placed on the inside-side pocket right near the usb charging port. Backpack meant for people that don't use notebooks. This day and age, everything is on the Cloud. 1 mac, 1 tablet. 1 water bottle, 1 external battery & wire. Pens, maybe. Definitely use exterior side pockets on each side for quick access to smaller items. It even stands on it's own when used properly. Overall for a minimalist, 4.8 out of 5.

I bought a red one, I like the bag, its pretty and got some nice features but same as you I find it abit small for my normal use. I usually have a 12" tablet that I have to put in the PC slot, I have a small notebook where I put in the tablet pocket, and a sketchbook that I also put in the pc-slot... then some cables, battery, some sockets and sketching tools... What I do miss with the backpack is a side pocket where you can put your flask, it could be something that could be folded out ... (have seen in other backpacks something similar) also maybe abit more storage space for papers (or books) and the backpack would be so much nicer. However, I do use my backpack every day, even for a short 2 day trip (with one sleepover) and managed to fit a change of cloths even hehe.

Your first review of the bobby is good, but this "Loading it up" is really bad honestly. You bring alot of stuff for no reason, and ignore alot of compartments then complain about things "just flying around". There are also these things called "pouches" that you can use. If you have a laptop, an ipad and a phone... Why do you also have to bring a journal and stationary? and 3 different headphones with cases?? Judging from this video you are very bad at organizing and planning. If a bag is smaller, it's obvious that it can't fit as much. You have to judge a bag by what it is, and what it's marketed as. An anti-theft bag is obviously not gonna have a bunch of quick access pocket where you can just grab things easily... Calling this in-depth is a joke.

+UhOh_bent is theft an issue at your school and where you live? If not then don't get this bag. It's an anti-theft backpack and it does a fantastic job at that, but for me its a terrible bag for taking out items. Sure you can fit a lot of stuff in different pockets and tetris the entire thing up, but what happens when you want to access the thing at the bottom? Unless you open the entire thing up, it's very difficult and inconvenient to access things. And opening the whole thing up say on public transport isn't going to be convenient either. But it is anti theft and supposed to be difficult to access the items but I think it's unfortunate. I still prefer backpacks with individual compartments like the one featured in my what's in my bag video. I think at best, the Bobby can fit one full binder with a laptop. But if theft is an issue, definitely go with this.

I agree with everything you said. I don't understand the comments saying you can't pack, because who spends more than 10 minutes trying to figure out what can fit where? Unless you're backpacking somewhere. This is supposed to be your everyday bag and if you're always trying to figure out where to put things, it won't make it enjoyable to use.
@JdawgW167 жыл бұрын
Andy C when you first get the bag, it may take 10 minutes to figure out how to pack all your crap you want to bring but once you actually got it packed, you know where everything could/should go, and will not take you 10 minutes anymore.
@jcunboxing7 жыл бұрын
+JdawgW16 what you said is true, but I've found that unless you always have a safe and flat surface to unpack your things, it's extremely difficult to take out or add anything to this backpack. Coming from using a traditional backpack with multiple zips and compartments, there's a lot to adjust to and I would say you can't really use it for the same purposes; unless you're willing to adjust and change the way you use backpacks.

How well does a gaming sized 15,6" laptop fit in the laptop compartment? Height: 24.95mm (0.98") x Width: 389mm (15.32") x Depth: 274.7mm (10.82")

Hey, great reviews here. I'm thinking about buying this bag but I have to carry a few books everyday at uni and I was wondering if this could fit along with a laptop and like one or two notebooks. I think it could but can you like remove or fold the compartments on the bottom ? I'm actually using an Eastpak standard backpack, do you think it is about the same capacity ? (sorry if I'm not really clear, english is not my native language)
@jcunboxing8 жыл бұрын
+Smaxe I think the Eastpak backpack has much more space. But I reckon from what you mentioned, it should be okay. You can't remove the compartments but they fold down flat easy enough. The really good thing about the Bobby Backpack is that when you load it up and wear it, you hardly feel anything and that's due to the good balancing of the centre of gravity. So if you're carrying heavy books, it'll be good for your back in the long run. But if you need a lot of space, perhaps you'll need to look elsewhere.
@Smaxe8 жыл бұрын
I think I'm gonna get it so, I can adapt the number of books I bring with me so I think it'll be okay and I really like the concept, a few concessions are sometimes needed. And I'll check before if I can send it back just in case. Thanks again for your help :)

I seriously don't get all this hate in the comments. I understand that he could have done a better job packing the stuff he mentioned, but this is NOT a spacious backpack. Where would you fit your laptop charger, tablet charger, phone charger, sunglasses? I personally need a bag that can fit these items as well.

Can you fit a dslr in there ? When you already have a laptop in the bag ?
@jcunboxing6 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the DSLR and what lens and what other things you are carrying but regardless it will be a tight fit for sure.

Hello James I have a question. Fits 15.6" the diagonal screen or the laptop complete on the pocket??
@jcunboxing7 жыл бұрын
+David Turcios any laptop that is marketed as a 15.6 inch screen will fit.
@davidturcios58687 жыл бұрын
James Chia thanks for your answer. I asked you because some comments below, people asked you if fit 17" in the bag and you say no. My laptop has 15.6" screen, but the laptop complete fits 17"
@jcunboxing7 жыл бұрын
"The Bobby has a special pocket to keep your Laptop safe and secure during your travels. This pocket is big enough for all laptops up to 15,6" from XD Design's website. So 17" won't fit.

My stuff (worst case scenario): Laptop (including power bricks and Logitech M331 wireless mouse), phone charger, power bank, earbuds, A5 size notebook, small notebook, a A4 size plastic folder, umbrella, 750ml ECO by Tupperware water bottle. and other small stuff(keys, usb cables, and usb drives). I put ALL stuff into this bag and my water bottle is left out. Sad case. btw I decide to bring a BIG water bottle with my hand, since 750ml seem not enough to me.

+France TYing good luck easily accessing anything aside from the laptop and tablet... That's the inherit flaw of this style of 180 degree anti-theft backpack.

What about the compartments at the back? Any good?
@jcunboxing8 жыл бұрын
+Isaac Ooi to be honest I haven't used the backpack since I did this video. As I mentioned in the video it's because it doesn't really suit my usage/needs. I would assume the back pocket is quite useful for storing documents such as a passport etc.. At the end of the day, it's a travel backpack.

If you have a laptop in there, and have chargers, powerbank, and the bottle, how many novel sized books can you fit?
@jcunboxing8 жыл бұрын
+Ib04175 if it's a decently thick novel then I would say at most one. Don't think you'll fit two thick novels.

So this is a good video, I actually just got an ad for this backpack. I'm doing my own research to know what I'm looking into before I buy one. I honestly would not call this a review because you didn't show any other pockets that the ad did. I would just call this a regular video. You may not have seem to have any use for the extra pocket but I fully believe that all the really small stuff could have been put in the other hidden space.

@robertomantasnakhai53737 жыл бұрын
You should work on your space management. I am looking forward to be a backer for the new Bobby Bizz but for you it wouldn’t work 100% with that space management hahaha
@jcunboxing7 жыл бұрын
+Roberto Mantas Nakhai it's not all about cramming. It's what works for you. I don't like having my stuff in the outside pockets or against my back because I can feel it. So it obviously doesn't work for me. But it may for you.
