Bobby, as you noticed, is a regular member of The Bass Gang. He also sings with several other TicTok based groups. Eric Holloway, That Bass Voice, is an oktavist. That is the vocal range BELOW bass, and fairly rare. Oktavist is a Russian term. Russian choral groups were the first known to utilize singers who had that incredibly low range. Goosebumps everywhere 🫨 As a former opera singer, there’s nothing better than a good bass. 😮‍💨 Edited to add: as a former singer I feel like I should answer your question from the end. It takes a lot of training in addition to natural talent to sing in the extreme ranges. Speaking voice isn’t always an indicator of your singing voice. When I speak, I’ve always had a pretty low voice so you’d think I was an alto, however when I sang, I could hit the highest notes easily. The more I trained, the higher and easier it became. I made decent money from churches who hired me specifically so I could hit the high notes during concerts while their choir sopranos were told to drop. I find basses fascinating even though it’s a similar routine - training, breathing, stamina, warmups, lots of liquids, and more training. But you can’t create a bass (or any voice really) without the natural ability. If someone can’t sing, they can’t sing. 🤷🏼‍♀️
