I loved Bobby's character, we usually see Willem Dafoe as the antagonist in many films but its nice see it as the good guy

This film moved me so terribly much. A beautiful, raw, and heartbreaking look at America's poor who teeter on the edge of homelessness.

Man, I love Willem Dafoe so much. One of the best film actors of all time, hands down. Way above many other well known names.

God used this film for me. I was in USA on a trip with a church, one evening i watched this film and the next day they announced the we were going to local motels in the city to minister and bring food to people that live there. I was amazed, he was preparing my heart the night before ❤

I grew up in poverty as well in Tulsa. I'm 41. I wasn't born into poverty. I was born middle class. My mom went crazy and divorced my dad when I was 10 and my younger sister was 5. Things would have been much worse except for when I was 14 I lied about my age (told them I was 16) and got a job washing dishes at a fancy retirement home. $6/hour, 40-50 hours a week (Monday-Friday was 3pm-9pm, Sat and every other Sunday 11am-9pm) PLUS I went to high school. I had that job from my Freshmen year all the way through until the first half of my Junior year. My paychecks eveyy 2 weeks were like $500 after taxes, but my mom would take about $350 of that for "bills". In that time I grew to resent the "poor" because I was staring at it every day of my life. A mother who REFUSED to get her act together, who would constantly blame me for being born when I was a 14 year old kid working full time to take care of her when it should've been the other way around. If it wasn't for my dad paying child support and grandparents helping out, I don't know how we would have survived.

This was not a mainstream hollywood production, and as a result suffered from lack of exposure. That is a terrible terrible shame. Do yourself a favor and find this movie in some streaming platform. This film has no special effects, no soaring musical scores, just honest acting of a slice of American Society that is almost always brushed under the carpet. The two main children are so fresh and real, you cant believe they are actors, they seemed like they were just plucked out of the same type of project. However. I saw them interviewed on a talk show, and it was just so crazy to find that they are extremely articulate, intelligent children bearing no resemblance to the characters they portrayed,

This movie was awesome. They should make an actual real documentary base on these locations.

I could be wrong but in an interview where Willem Dafoe did with Hugh Jackman, Willem said almost all of the people except very few characters like the young man who helped him move the freezer were all real and lived in this motel.

It’s a film called ‘The Florida Project,’ and I highly recommend it. One of the best films I saw that year. 2017, I think.

I wish this was a show. I want Bria Vinaite to just talk like herself as the lead on a major network comedy.
