yep...Bobby Brown really made an original musical statement. He was not Michael Jackson....wasn't trying to be. But he was competitive and cocky. Bobby innovated the black male R&B archetype...creating a mix of acrobatic & sexualized dance with smooth and hard music instincts. Brown lead the way for Usher, Chris Brown, Jason D. etc....this is not recognized often as his contribution to pop music overall.

@donnamaria6666 жыл бұрын
Officially Tera MJ was no bad boy though neither was Prince.
@officiallytera68316 жыл бұрын
Donna Maria They didn't portray to be that either. When Bobby went to jail for gyrating on that girl at his concert, he literally planned to do that to add to his bad boy image. His monicker was, Bobby Brown the bad boy of R&B. But throughout the movie it seemed like he was trying to portray that he didn't look for trouble but trouble always found him. In other words, he's not a bad boy but he wants everyone to finally know that he's a good guy underneath the bad boy image. Why do you think it was so easy for e everyone to believe he put Whitney onto drugs?
@tgirl17624 жыл бұрын
@@officiallytera6831 First of all he didn't create the "Bad Boy" image people saw him that way because he didn't follow rules and always getting into trouble because of it. He didn't like to be told what to do especially when it came his music and performances as you saw when he was in New Edition. Him and the other guys had ideas of how they wanted their music, sound, and look to be but the label wanted their way on top of not paying them. That's why Bobby issues the most. So when Bobby finally got to kind of showcase his style and do things his way he decided he wasn't gonna let nobody tell him what to do. The thing with the girl on stage was him not giving a fuck what officers said. It was a part of his show and nobody was gonna tell him not to do it not even the police and that's where it came from.

Sadly, his relationship with Whitney (who I love) ruined the both of them. Who knows who Bobby could have been if they had not married... Rainy5062002 What he meant was, people wanted something raw and new. He gave them that. Bobby sang and dance different than Prince & MJ and he was a trendsetter from head to toe. Artist of today follow BB's footprint...Usher, Chris Brown, with the raw dance crews not MJ's. He was a different type of artist than MJ. Bobby was just raw with a swag. I forgot that about him. It was so odd seeing him with Whitney at first, because he was cooler than her. Clive was trying to make Whitney the next Diana Ross and it was just weird seeing them together, plus she was older than Janet Jackson.

If you listen carefully, he said the "Michael Jacksons and the Princes". So he's referring to people trying to be like them, not them specifically.

humpty dumpty if it wasn't for mj there will be no bobby. MJ did it raw at the age of 9. Nothing but raw talent. That's why berry Gordy signed him and the j5.

he thought Mike & Prince were just images? yeah he was sniffing some good stuff.😁
@cocogoddess9898 Жыл бұрын
I understood what he meant he wasn’t downplaying the talent of those two but was merely saying they were not really relatable they had bigger than life personalities so much to the point where people thought that they weren’t even human…but Bobby had the talent and the down to earth personality that people could really relate to…he really was the second coming to talents like Michael Jackson and prince 💯💯💯

He’s talking about the image that they were “perfect” Bobby could care less about having that image, he wanted to perform and make people smile and that’s what he did

Bobby and Justin Bieber had the same problem. They got famous too young, started acting crazy doing what they wanted. After they hit their lowest they're still successful but they lack the same respect from the public.

It didn't do huge numbers like doc but it went gold. That's pretty decent for a debut especially back then. Hell today's artists are struggling to reach gold and platinum status

How cool is that!! You can hear a tinge of the Boston accent in his voice. When he says "solo ahtist," 1:19-1:21. Also, when he says "ovah" and "hahdah," 2:15-2:20.

Ive loved bobby since I was 5 years old. I'm 32 now. While my family was hooked on the Michael and Janet Jackson ... I was all for the rebel! I loved his music and dancing. He was different from the pop acts. He didn't care...he was himself.
