Bobby innovated the black male R&B archetype...creating a mix of acrobatic & sexualized dance with smooth and hard music instincts. He didn't like to be told what to do especially when it came his music and performances as you saw when he was in New Edition. Him and the other guys had ideas of how they wanted their music, sound, and look to be but the label wanted their way on top of not paying them. That's why Bobby issues the most. So when Bobby finally got to kind of showcase his style and do things his way he decided he wasn't gonna let nobody tell him what to do.
