As a Christian, I've been struggling with severe anxiety and depression and I'm being mocked by my neighbors etc.. I tried stopping my meds cold turkey and ended up in a psych ward. I now struggle with shame and guilt. Please pray for me thanks!

Hope you are feeling better brother. Honestly, people are not gonna know how you really feel. Close the door to the enemy cause sometimes when we were still in sin we open up ourselves for torment. Take the meds if you really need it and if they are helping. Keep praying.

I have hyper anxiety with bipolar 1. If I don’t take medication I’m going to go into a very dark space where there is no lifeline. My husband and I tried taking me off with a doctor’s supervision and we found out very quickly that I’m in the 10% that needs medication. I’m not ashamed of my conditions or the medications I take. That’s why I’m involved in helping others with the same conditions.

My brother who was a believer in Christ and was suffering from bi polar disorder ended up taking his life, it’s been 20 years since his death . I am thankful for your story and what you are now sharing it’s so long overdue. Many suffer silently because of the stigma associated with mental illness. A lot of times I try to explain my issues to other Christians and then they just give me solutions like it’s easier said than done and then they end up telling me that it’s my fault because I don’t have enough faith and it would really make me angry because you talk to me like you know me and that right there just makes me want to just completely withdraw from society because it makes feel that no one understands. 😔

My brothers and sisters in Christ have been very supportive and I'll offer my best advice and testimony for this. My mental issues come from several factors... my genes, for one, I was already born differently. Two, childhood trauma. My stepmother was a narcissist and my stepfather was an alcoholic and child abuser/molester. My mother was a drug addict and my father was also a drinker and a bit depressed himself because of my narcisstic stepmother and the fact my mother left him for a complete butthead. So I was exposed to abuse and molestation from my stepfather, neglect from my mother, constant screaming and accusations from my stepmother and my father just didn't know what words to say most my life but he is a good man. From being molested and screamed at I developed severe social complications that didn't help with my natural born ADHD. As an adult I have sexual problems, ptsd, anxiety and get depressed. To cope as a teen I drank and did drugs, and quit those only 30 days ago. My brain doesn't really work right. My girlfriend is very understanding and I moved away from the environment that caused me so much stress. Part of healing is just being totally and completely honest with people. If they don't or can't help you they might not be your people. I had to bounce around before I found a place I belong. Just know a few things. Humans are allowed to have emotions and anyone that puts you down for depressive episodes or anxiety just doesn't get it and doesn't get you. If you understand yourself and your heart, stop settling for people who make you feel bad about yourself. All my old friends fed me drugs and alcohol and told me to stop thinking about my issues. The answer is to think about your issues, take it to God and work through them. Sometimes medication is necessary, as is with me. The worst things you can do is isolate or blame society in general. Theres good people out there you just need to find them or let them find you. There's also good churches but not all churches are good. I feel for you in your position I would have worded it the same before I changed. I'm still struggling but change can happen

I too have struggled with this. I think this generation jumps too quickly making everything a clinical diagnosis. It’s a fine line. I’ve been doing neurofeedback and it has been a Godsend. I hope to eventually use it to get off medication. “Triggered” used to be reserved for people with PTSD for situations that would trigger symptoms. Now it’s used for anything that makes you upset or that you don’t like. This is wrong. Lean towards resiliency, do not seek to be coddled. The Lord is always with us either way. I’m rambling, but this a much needed video. Just don’t swing too far the other direction.

Right on. The interesting thing is antidepressants dont even perform much better than a placebo drug scientifically yet many people report great effects. It just goes to show what most people are calling to depression is more like being in a bad mood.

Christians choose to make medication a moral issue. Some choose to make exercise a moral issue, or watching movies. We look bad when others listen to us. No wonder we are seeing an epidemic of deconversions.

I suffer with bi polar and anxiety but first of all I’m sharing cause I want people to know that you don’t need to put your faith into medication, instead pray through Christ for the medication and to see if first if he wants you to use that medication. Don’t depend on it but depend on Christ and knowing that you do take medication also know that without god there wouldn’t be none . But I don’t take no medication at all. I’m not perfect by all means but yet god gives me what I need to keep going on life. Build a relationship with god , get close and I’m telling you , he will provide he always does

Hey i had a mocemet disorder and was crippled with pain and spinal deformations. Found all sorts of healing through psychedelics, yoga, and meditation. I got my whole body back and am on no meds besides good weed see whats possible!

Keep praying and be obedient to god, take the medications if you need to, and close any doors from the enemy. When we sin we open ourselves to the enemy. Keep pressing in have community as well

This is the questions I have and was always told if you deal with Anxiety and depression, it's something from a demonic, and you should go to God, Jesus for healing, not drugs/medication, I am lost in when to draw the line, and if we depend on a drug then we stop depending on God, am confused.

I wouldnt think of it in terms of right or wrong so much as what result are you looking for. Drugs can help possibly a little, possibly not and all have side effects. Gods healing is a more total sollution but in my experience I had a lot i needed to learn through meditation . Yogas been very helpful too. You can heal your problems or hide from them and whatever you choose, it has nothing to do with your value as a human. I hope you go for full healing

I think the best way is faith in the lord by praying for peace but it is ok to take medicine until your faith is strong enough and you have to pray for God to empower your faith It is not easy when you have series mental issue plus demons play the major part when you mentally tortured you and you need to cast them out in Jesus precious name

The Bible was written in a different time frame, religions hold back vital texts from the masses so God has a more direct approach to humanity.
