Czyz was not only a great fighter but was also possibly the most intelligent fighter ever. Just by his interviews, you can tell the man had brains. Enjoyed your original piece you did on him. Always the best. Thanks, Rich.

Loved seeing Czyz fight when I was a kid. I used to be one of the little kids that ran around the gym, Czyz used to train there, was an old trainer that ran Kirk Center. Czyz was a pretty good dude, I ran into him at Club Abyss and spoke for a few. I hope him & family are doing well.

Thanks for the Czyz videos brought back some great memories. Don’t think Czyz was ever handled particularly well. The Hamsho fight came too quick and was certainly a natural middleweight. Which makes the success he did have at the higher weight classes more impressive.

Agree re handling. Wonder if they thought they’d better get the most return out of him quickly from a “ loose cannon “? Ie before he imploded somehow?

Tommy Parks was a good trainer

The most remarkable thing about Czyz for me is that he (a former middleweight) gave Holyfield a MUCH BETTER FIGHT than Mike Tyson could muster in two efforts against Evander. Czyz was a real fighter.

Yeah! He was exciting and he took on all comers, to my knowledge he didn't duck anyone.

It is kind of curious that his nastiness was not really spoken of, despite many times he was not a good sport. Maybe it just conflicted with the whole matinee idol narrative they were trying to push.

The kids solid. I do love a spiteful boxer.
