I knew Johnny back about this time, its sad that the USA boycotted the 80 Olympics ,or else he would have represented his country in his weight class. He was class act and a gentle soul. That is until I put the gloves on with him a few times, oh man, those body punches still hurt ! RIP Johnny Bumphus

Ronnie Shields was coached by Roy Harris who fought both Floyd Patterson and Sonny Liston. My head coach was coached by a man named “The Postman” Greg Green who was an amateur fighter along side Ronnie.

I remember Johnny and Clint Jackson's time in Nashville with the Sheriff's dept program. Everybody had high hopes for the both of them, but sadly things didn't materialize. Both were great fighters, but things just didn't work out for them.

If you're on your desktop, you should see the magnifying glass search button on the right hand side of the screen. If you're using your Smart phone it won't come up for the channel, you'll just see it for KZbin itself. A bit easier to navigate if you're on your desktop or tablet, I think.
