Comment + like for algo. Great work by Viktor the Terrible. He had an even score with Fischer. Tough stuff

Korchnoi was a late boomer.Korchnoi his best years were from 1973-1984.Korchnoi won at age 52 years old in 1984 super grand master tournament a scoring rating about 2900 points.Only Lasker in New York at age 56 years old have may be better rating score of the 50s older players.Lasker beat the chess machine winning that New York tournament

It's interesting that Fischer used the Pirc in his match vs Spassky 1972.

"Korchnoi is known for soaking up attacking resources"... Ha! Thanks for posting this beautiful Korchnoi game. I think Korchnoi became the true anti-soviet cold warrior with his two matches v. Karpov while the KGB was harrasssing his family.... well i'm just a Korchnoi fan what can i say

Korchnoi, Taimanov, Reti, Keres, Unzicher and Bogoljubov were GMs tha never became world champions. Never the less, Louis Paulsen was really good GM as well

Thanks I thought maybe I had gone overboard a bit - but as long as they are in the Player Bio chat part of the video, I am not sure they do any harm for optional content to check out.

hmm that would be a metaphor for Korchnoi's formative years experience during the seige of leningrad? Watching red army: "soaking up attacking resources"? This might become my new motto.

"Christer Nilsson 18 minutes ago At 10:38, doesnt white win with bh6? " ... Good resource attempt and something I considered too, but just Qxb2 saves black here with advantage.

I think it is one of the great tragedies of World Chess was that Viktor never became the World Champion. It is good to see the Pirc played at this level. However, this game has probably been analysed at the highest levels. Kasparov has said that the Pirc is not worth using at the highest levels.

Just Bxf6 I think because Rxg6 fxg6 Nxf6 seems hopeless for white. E.g. Re6 coming next as well as e3 if needed.

Winning the queen... but 2 rooks + a lot of free pawns worth more then a queen + knight. White will LOOSE after winning the queen.

Korchnoi his move a5 was a home preparation(it was not Korchnoi`s own some his coaches or some one gave his the a5 move. And the move Bxg4! wa not a difficult one my old computer from 1992 solved it 1.50 minutes.Korchnoi did not selected this game in his book my best games as black.Korchnoi knew that it was his home work and a novelty a5 which beat 19 year old Fischer.Korchnoi would had liked the tough fight game not beating by home analysis
