I don't have any fishing buddy so I'm just going to tell you LOL figured you might appreciate it. I just went over the weekend and caught more crappie in those two days and I have in my entire life. I was still stuck on the dock but luckily they were close enough. Let me tell you, that is the most addicting thing I have ever done. One more cast followed by one more cast turned into an all-nighter lol. I went out there just to mess around but I really didn't expect to catch so much crappie at night especially. Moon was pretty bright so that may have helped.

That is awesome, catching those crappie and feeling that thump is definitely a blast. Congratulations! 🐿

I like the comparisons, maybe not all the time. The best thing about channel is you get tech, comparisons, tips, beautiful scenery and appreciation for the power of cookie dough.

Dock shooting with same jig profile but different weight jig head. Then different jighead profile (round, minnow) but same weight. Glad I found your channel! Thanks for your help!!

New subscriber, great video, thank you!!! I am a bank fisherman, mostly ponds and in the winter/cold water months I have noticed the scent of the gulp minnow gets more bites but if I tip the soft plastic with a crappie nibble the bite is about the same. During those months the ponds I fish are usually dirty/low visibility so I think the scent helps. During the later spring/summer once the water clears up I usually don't need a scented bait.

Thank you for the sub! I appreciate the information. I have crappie nibbles but haven’t tried them yet. I usually tip my jigs with minnows when I’m longline trolling in February and March. I appreciate you watching! 🐿

Ive been using the bobby garland for quite a long time with good success. Recently i tried the gulp shad and it seemed they were a bit better. However it seems to change day to day. Also the gulp are more costly to use, in that they are more expensive initially, and they dont hold up very well. Sometime just one fish will ruin the gulp minnow.

Question do you know somewhere I could take my wife and kids to catch some crappie. We have a jon boat and motor but we can never find crappie.We are gonna try and go this weekend if weather cooperates. If you know a good ramp we could put in at and maybe catch some crappie that would be great. Thanks alot great video.

Hey BakerGang, Due to hunting season and Clemson football, I haven’t fished or been on the water in a month. If I went fishing tomorrow, I would start scanning the creek channels till I found fish. If you do not have electronics, you could long line troll till you found them. On Hartwell, I would fish Coneross, or Martin Creek just because they are close to me. On Keowee, I fish cane, crooked or stamp creek. The key is finding brush piles at the depths fish are holding. I hope to fish some this weekend, if I get on some fish, I’ll post a video soon. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps. 🐿

Love your measuring board with easy to read numbers. What brand/model is it and where can I buy one? Thanks!
@FishinwithSquirrel2 жыл бұрын
It is a Muskie bumper board. Their website is www.muskiebumper.com/. Mine is the “Fat boy”. I ordered the big one so I can use it to measure catfish. Thanks for watching!

@@FishinwithSquirrel Thanks…wish more fishing content creators would use measuring boards like yours to make it easier for viewers to see the numbers and thus validate the size of catch.

I have looked at the jars of 1 inch gulp on Amazon but none of the ads say how many come in a jar. What has been your experience with quantity in the gulp jars?
@FishinwithSquirrel Жыл бұрын
I’ve never counted them but from what I found out there are approximately 20. I believe they are bottled by weight. I did buy some urine specimen jars on Amazon to put them in so they won’t leak. The small containers will hold two jars of gulp minnows. Tight lines!🐿

Do you think placing a bouy on the pile would spook them?
@FishinwithSquirrel2 жыл бұрын
I drove my boat directly over the top of them only 8’deep. Then caught fish. I would hesitate to drop a bouy. I would just drop it to one side so it wouldn’t get hung up in the brush.

Yes please drop a buoy so that way I know to come back and scan the area after you leave. Lol. Buoys are a great way to get kids to target an area. Like squirrel said try dropping off to the side if possible.
