Unnatural, how does these horses lift their legs so unnatural, painful?

These horses and ponies are bred to have the conformation and natural ability to lift their legs with the high stepping animation you see. While training helps to condition them to be able to do this with ease, they have to have a natural ability from the start. And most importantly as you probably already know, a horse can not trot soundly if in pain. Hope this helps!
