One thing I have to say. Bobby expressed that “girls” want/need the cuddles and attention and then later spoke about his inability to go and do things for the sake of the other person bc he simply just doesn’t want to. That is not a women thing. In any relationship wether it’s familial or romantic of friendly requires each person to do things for the others happiness even if it’s not something you want to do. If you don’t do that, it’ll begin to feel transactional rather than loving. If Bobby continues to refuse to do things for the other persons sake and only does things when HE wants to, he will never find a person. It’s hard to swallow but true.

However, when I’m not working, I want to do what I want to do. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If I don’t have to, I shouldn’t have to force myself to be unhappy for a majority of my life. And right now, at 25, unless it was the right type of person, I wouldn’t want to be in a relationship. I don’t want to have to worry about a significant others feelings, wants, needs, both emotionally and physically. I am at least self aware enough to realize that right now I’m not interested in that. We work together, we have a great love life, we enjoy our extended families, we have good kids, and we share our faith. It takes a lot of effort from both sides. In fact the first year we were married, we almost divorced. We went to counseling and the therapist told us he didn’t see us making it. My husband stood up, grabbed my hand and the then said to the therapist as he pulled me to the door, “ We are not listening to this shit!” In that moment we realized this was death do us part. Then last year my husband got sick and almost died from Covid. During that time I contemplated on the fact that I have the best, and how would I ever be lucky enough to have someone or something so good again. I resonate with your girlfriend, because my girlfriend and I are the same right now. My girlfriend is a lovely, lovely person. But her go-with-the-flow personality is just too much for me to handle. She’s European, and constantly flip-flops on whether she’s going to stay in the states or leave depending on her mood. We stay in bed for hours on the weekend, until I eventually have to kick ourselves out and make sure we’re doing something, otherwise it feels like a waste. Throughout our entire relationship, I’ve always been the one to initiate texting/calling/planning because she’s just so aloof, loves nothing more than just spontaneously spending a day staring out at a skyline or up at the sky for hours while disregarding any real-life duties or experiences. And this will be the end of our relationship - mark my words. Don’t get me wrong, I love those slow, stop the world and melt with you moments. But I also love the stimulating parts of life. We recently went on vacation together - the whole week she wanted to stay on the beach. I wanted to see stuff and work in time for the beach as we went along. It’s hard being with someone who has their head in the clouds 24/7, because eventually you end up getting pulled away from the ground.

I think for me, that mystery of a person and/or a relationship shifts over time. When I met my now wife, we, like what Bobby described, had that period of time of "the chase" and "the mystery" of getting to know each other. What happened for us wasn't so much of a boredom or "falling apart" once we had grown familiar with each other, but rather that mystery and chase shifted to how WE were going to continue to change and grow now as a unit. For me, this was a natural evolution of a relationship and, specifically, our friendship that lead to us becoming wed. I 100% with when Bobby described that change in the relationship becoming a friendship. I think a growing relationship eventually hit a point where you decide if you are interested in exploring the mystery not of another individual, but of a team and become invested in each other. For Bobby, it sounds like either he may not see things that way or, at this time, he doesn't have interest in that next step.

Bobby should stop masturbating/watching Porn and playing video games all day, 2 activities that lower your regard of human interaction. While I think your spouse is foisted unto you in Western culture, you can find some middle ground. If I was giving Karlyla game, I would have told her to move out and find a partner to move on with. Luckily, they don't have children. But, that being said, even in a successful marriage (which is one where you get to the end together because that is the only success - for only death to do you part), they go through 10-15 years of not standing each other and someone not trying hard enough. I think had she taken the Filipino route of getting marriage first things might be different. Now, she is stuck. She had built something awesome with this man and now, he's like: "You're not worth it." Ouch! That must hurt. If I were her, I would put an intention for 7 weeks (Sundays)in a Catholic Church and ask Wisdom about what Her will is. Watch hoe the situation changes, so, I would say the fault is Kharlyla's because she has been taught how to handle spiritual.matters such as this but she is plagued by unbelief. Even of you are not Catholic, if you put in an intention, the whole Church = 1,2bn of us agree during intentions on what you are praying for. Sometimes the change happens as soon as you resolve to do it. It isnthat good. One prayer for you, the whole Church in unison, Wow!

It’s fine to play video games, but Bobby literally doesn’t care about his partners emotional needs, physical needs like quality time and cuddles, her interests or her future goals. He literally doesn’t want to do anything with his partner, almost paying her off financially to leave him alone. He spoke as if a relationship is such a burden, well it usually is if you don’t put any effort in and let it become toxic. He doesn’t want to grow as a person or be in a proper relationship. Glad he is actually acknowledging that he is selfish and can’t provide properly for a partner, but the sad thing is that he’s already wasted 10 years of both their lives and he’ll most likely get into another relationship and do this all over again to a another girl. He’s 52 now so it’s pretty hard to imagine him getting over his old habits.

What he's describing sounds like text book intimacy avoidance. I was in a similar situation with my wife and I needed to have a rude awakening to see what I was doing to her. It leaves your partner feeling like they're the problem no matter how you try to explain it. I needed to stop the porn and jerking off but most importantly I needed to learn how to be intimate with my wife, more than just physically.
@Undoing882 жыл бұрын
It's hard to take that leap. Many of us (in my experience, far more often in men) have a hard time reconciling "be strong" and "be vulnerable" within the context of a relationship with our partner. It makes sense. It's a tough line to walk. But if she's a real catch, she'll be fine with your intimate side. Good luck out there to all who struggle with it. My advice is to just show up completely vulnerable. The women I admire the most have all cherished vulnerability in a partner. I've also known many who were turned off by it - but they were categorically lower quality people!

It really does sound like he's not comfortable with himself (a lot of comedians aren't) and has low self-esteem (a lot of comedians do) and has never been forced to mature. He started making money at a young age, landed some great gigs with his talent, and is now just sortof coasting through life as a grown-up adolescent. @@rutygut5000 Thats why the relationship should've ended preemptively, you don't convince him to accept you getting your physical needs met by someone else. Mind you he isn't the 1st boyfriend she's convinced to accept her sleeping with another man, by her own account she did that with one of her ex's and their roommate, convinced him to accepting an open relationship with the man who was rooming with them. Once is understandable but multiple times seems like a pattern, also as I've said physical trauma can mess with all future relationships. Would you accept me saying these same things if I was with a girl who had been sexually violated as a child, and just because she wasn't meeting my physical needs i convice her to let me sleep around even though it makes her unhappy? So because I'm unfulfilled i make her go through unhappiness to satisfy myself? It's no=³t guaranteed, sure...of course not, but it happens more often than you might think. Even if the ex was their true love and the relationship was their happily ever after...there's every chance & opportunity of finding someone and building something you feel same way (or stronger) about. Are you referencing looks? Saying she's the best Bobby will ever be able to do and it's all downhill from here? That's kinda the vibe I get from your post. And my response to that is SMDH looks ain't shit...THEY FADE. He can date the most beautiful woman on the planet but he'll still be miserable if she has no personality. I think the joke is on you...it might take bit but once his heart is fully healed, I think Bobby will find the PERFECT partner. P.S.: You're literal shit!

Bobby deserves so much better and him blaming himself is sad. She cheated on him. He probably didn't wanna sleep with her after she started getting railed by her bf in Hawaii

Be less selfish. Value commitment. I’m working on this myself. It is nice seeing how open and vulnerable Bobby is here.

I don’t think anyone has to be less selfish or value commitment. But that doesn’t mean just jump into a relationship. I think if you value your alone time and your dreams and aspirations and wants more than a being, an actual human person, than that’s fine. Just do you until your ready. Me personally I can openly say I’m just too selfish I know what it’s like to have to be what a woman deserves. And I don’t want that at all..like ever honestly😂
