Ethan didn't put 20 hours into the game because one of the earliest cutscenes introduces the fisherman who then gives you a fishing rod lmao that's like 10-20 minutes in.
@callumbaker33786 жыл бұрын
Scar Yeah but who the hell ignores the letter from an NPC while you're still basically in the tutorial section of the game. There's legit no way that you could've gone 20 hours through the game without even once fuckin walking to the beach and seeing that there's a dude who sells fishing gear. Not only that there's also the daily quests and shit where villagers ask for fish occasionally. So even if you never went to the beach in 20 hours of gameplay you'd still find out that there's fishing.

Harvest moon, stardew valley and animal crossing healed my depression, there's just something about seeing your effort and time investment pay off in a somewhat accelerated way, it just tricks your brain into feeling like it's worth it to get out there and do something, those are the type of games that counteract nihilism myth of sisyphus style.
@seanThree164 жыл бұрын
I planted vegetables in my backyard because of playing stardew and wishing I had vegetable plants irl
@Sabbathtage4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing this. My husband struggles with depression too and when I found out he's never played any farming sims I suggested Stardew Valley. He's been so much more relaxed and happy. He's playing it right now and marveling at how much fun he's having. I too had a nihilistic perspective on the daily grind until studying Albert Camus. When Albert Camus said "One must imagine Sisyphus happy." in his book The Stranger he was basically saying "You can find joy in the grind." As I see it now I just need to pick a rock I enjoy pushing to the top. All things eventually rise and fall so why not find satisfaction where you can.

How is that even possible? At hour 50 I already had all the ores that I could possibly need, all the skills max lvl, fishing was already worthless and the game just became pointless. There was only farming left(including animals) and infinite grinding. I don't get how people can play after that point
@haywoodjblome47686 жыл бұрын
Miky Selisana I did catch all the legendary fish, and did a bit of the praire king, I didn't do more because it was pointless for the progression of the game. My point was that activities like fishing and mining get pointless as you progress and there's not a lot to do. Quests are also only useful in the very early game. But this is just me rambling and only my opinion, I get easily tired from games. Other people find fun in grinding intensively until you can afford a gold clock, I don't, but I kinda wish I did
