@ Have you seen the documentary "Rumble: The Indians who Rocked the World"? It demonstrates how indigenous /native music help shape/create Jazz, Blues and Rock. African and indigenous people have been mixing music for hundreds of years. To ad to that, Chicanos are indigenous native people. The word "Chicano" itself is an indigenous word from the Nahuatl language. Check out the documentary, its pretty good.
