Bobcat 873G 15-02 Traction Lock Pull Solenoid Error On - Diagnosis and Repair

This video describes the diagnosis and repair of an intermittent 15-02 error I have been experiencing with my Bobcat 873G. It seemed to happen more often while waiting for the glow plug count down to complete. The check list for the diagnosis is posted in the video. In my case, all of the checks for harness wiring and controller indicated a bad traction relay. I suspected the relay was okay and the issue was related to how the relay was seated in the fuse and relay panel. In the video, I demonstrate how I checked to make sure the relay was okay that led to suspecting the panel. I have added about 5 hours to the Bobcat since seating all of the relays in the panel. However, I do think it is possible for them to become loose again sometime in the future with normal operation. Let me know if you have any questions.
Update 02/23/19: I've put another 20 hours on the machine without an issue. If you have resolved your own 15-02 error, leave a comment and let's know your fix.

Sll three lights on top left screen flash and when this is the case t190 will not move if only 1 light is on all is well thanks for any help hc

what pin should have voltage in the socket ? when keyless pad is turned on

Remove the traction lock relay and if the code remains then pin B, wire 4100 in the traction lock solenoid connector should have 12 volts. I could send you an image of the complete test for the error, if you want.

I've got a S160 with the same electronic security system as you do. When I press the run/enter button on the security panel, it no longer powers up and asks for a code. Any ideas?

If you have the deluxe panel it sounds like it could be locked. Anyone else use the skid steer besides you? If I lock the panel I use the 4 digit code I set up. If you think it might be locked there is also a master code that you should be able to get from a dealer. They can look it up by serial number. My master code is a 6 digit code.

@@steveb153 If the panel were locked, would it (the panel) not power up asking for a code then or would it atleast still power the panel when the button is pressed?

@@spyderjosh Yes, it should power up. I read your reply as if it were asking for the code. Sounds like a panel issue. My panel is not hard to remove and you can check for power getting to the panel when you press enter/run button. That's where I would start.

Are you getting the 15-02 code when you try to "Push to Operate?" Sounds like the Traction Lock light is not off. If that is the case the traction lock solenoid is not pulling the pin to allow the loader to move.

Trying to locate the traction lock solenoid. Any pointers on where to look. I haven’t washed it out or really dug for it yet. But didn’t see it just glancing under cab.

Verifique todos los pines en el conector J3 en el ECM. A veces retroceden en el conector y es necesario volver a colocarlos. Salud
