Bobcat skid loader left joystick internal fault. 39-28

In this video I diagnose and replace a left can joystick controller on a bobcat s185 with the selectable joystick controls. Code 39-28. I attribute my successes to god and give him the glory.

Hello, when u repinned the connector, did u leave the wires the old way? Or did you change anything except the connector

I believe I just changed the connector and left the wires in the same orientation. I’m not 100% sure though because it was so long ago.

if you check the video from 22:20 - 23:00 you say that you believe that it will have to be reppined the opposite way, however after that you don't realy bring it up anymore, you just repin it. my friend has the same exact problem, he can only order the aftermarket part at the official bobcat dealer and even that only in a pair(L+R) so its quite expensive, however we found the aftermarket part from china that sells seperatly without the inbetween connector so he will have to repin it, and we just ain't sure if he will have to change the wires or only change the connector from male to female or viceversa. if you can check the video maybe u remember again. @@davidvehovarso I watched it again and at 30:35 I said I was going to repin the new one to the original wiring. I’m pretty sure I repined the wiring on the controller plug to the original wiring of the first controller and I just replaced the plug on the machine side. I was going back and forth about which way to do it and I chose to do it that way so the original wiring orientation was kept for later diagnostic purposes. It would probably be quicker to just repin the machine side plug and swap the wiring in just that plug rather than replace the plug and change the wiring on the other. I chose not to replace the terminals on the controller side because they were gold plated but not on the machine side. Ultimately I did more work and some of it may have just been wasted time but that’s how I believe it happened. I don’t know why they didn’t just keep it the same but I’m sure it is to get more money out of people for a jumper harness. Ultimately I would just make sure the wiring colors match from one plug through the other plug.

I don’t know about your area but I went to a bobcat dealer to order mine. When I got my joystick it required a jumper harness to plug it in. I just repined the old plug into the new joystick. If you go to this site you can locate a dealer. www.bobcat.com/mea/dealer-locator you might be able to order it offline from bobcat.
