This is a Bobcat T870 running a 50 inch 2 speed Bobcat forestry mulcher head with knives. Cutting in a retention pond.

How well does it remove stumps? Can you get them slightly below ground level?

Kenny Phillips It will take them down to ground level. We use a stump grinder attachment when people want them lower than that or dig them out.

how fine can this machine mulch? can you go over everything again and have it decompose in say a year? looking at cleaning 1-2 acres of small trees and Im wondering how fine the chips have to be to decompose quickly.

Eddy Gilbert with sharp teeth and depending on what type of wood you're mulching one pass will make around 2 inch chips. If it's pine it will be close to gone in a year. Not sure what you're wanting mulched but some people have us push the chips into a pile. The customer we were working for in this video just wanted it knocked down so he could run a bush hog over it when it grew back up

Thanks for the reply. Pushing the mulched chips into a pile seems like a good idea. We basically want to start s hobby farm so clearing the brush out completely is key. We don't have a pressed time either we could wait a year. Did you just change attachments to a bucket and use the same machine ?

Eddy Gilbert Yes, that's what makes those machines so great. They make every attachment you could possibly think of for those things.

Eddy Gilbert All it takes is a little practice. They really are very easy to operate and the attachments take about one to two minutes to switch out. Push a button and the attachment is disconnected from the machine. The only time you have to get out of the cab is to disconnect and reconnect the hydraulic hoses but even those use quick connect fittings. Run one for a hour and you won't want to get out of it. Lol.

I have a t870 with the kubota .Do u need high flow to run that forestry cutter

Yes that particular head requires high-flow although I think they make some low flow models

Marco Oliveira stones mess up the knives really bad but they do make teeth for it that can handle the stones.

Marco Oliveira for Fecon you can expect to pay $25,000 to $30,000 depending on the options. There are cheaper brands out there but haven't had any issues with the Fecon that we have.

I agree but the customer didn't want me wasting a lot of time/money making it look good because it's the bottom of a retention pond and no one could see it anyway
