If anyone visits and want a nice fish and chip shop, then Wetherby whaler is very nice have eaten there a few times. Eat in or take away. Definitely recommend. I'm originally from nearby.

We love wetherby, always call for fish and chips at the whaler as they are brilliant, we stayed near Bardsey and their are lots of red kites in the area which I loved watching

As someone who lives in wetherby can tell u there’s a take away called the frying pan which is nicer fish and chips

I live 3 miles from Wetherby, I do my shopping there every week and yet I take it all for granted. It's so nice to see the town on video and hear someone else,s views. Ps The Muscari you saw at the green grocer's is a spring flowering bulb commonly known as the Grape Hyacinth.

WELCOME TO YORKSHIRE... YOU WILL NEVER LEAVE !..... LOL... Wetherby , just down the road from where I lived most of my life ... Granted .. it CAN be very "rainy".... But even in the rain it's all beautiful. I live in East Yorkshire now... Still as lovely because it's all Yorkshire !!

Been countless times. Wetherby is in West Yorkshire. Can be prone to flooding but well worth visiting

I would have never thought of visiting Wetherby, not sure why I think I had a preconception nothing much there as have only been around the outskirts. Looks like a lot more to it than I expected. Appreciate you sharing as will visit at some point, maybe next time when at Harrogate. Just got back from the Travellers Rest (pleased I called ahead and booked as lots of folks getting turned away due to them being fully booked) - good recommendation. All the best, David 👍

Hi Bob and Jenny (and Poppy of course). You mentioned a while ago a possible planned visit to Fairlight Wood CAMC site later this year. I live locally to the site and would like to offer a couple of suggestions of good places to visit if you have time. Very close by is Fairlight Country Park. There is a big car park and a spectacular cliff top walk with views across Rye Bay to Dungeness. The towns of Winchelsea and Rye are also worth visiting with plenty of history in both. You can also visit the grave of Spike Milligan in Winchelsea, which was one of the first towns in England to be built on a grid system. Battle Abbey and the site of the Battle of Hastings (English Heritage) are also worth seeing. Spoilt for choice! Enjoy.
