That strong back is a piece of art, and those spacer blocks and wedges is something I would have never thought about. Great job Sir.

You are the Bob Ross of boatbuilding, love the detail and really enjoy watching these boats come together.

Both of these look like a really good system for construction. Everything seems very well thought out.

Spacers was a good idea. and the wedges made for a nice clamp.

love the side by side comparison. I've been weighing the pros and cons of each, and am also considering a skin on frame kayak.

at 3:00 min in the video, the print reads 118 and 7/32 " but you cut at 118" ? I feel that missed something?

My thought exactly! That boat will be 1 inch short.

I'm not sure which type I like better. The Stitch-and-glue looks easier, but the Strongback uses a more traditional method. I'm going to have to watch more because I'm still on the fence, Bob. Great video and very helpful. Please, be careful of those splinters!

Bob, are those spacers mentioned in the plans or was that your idea?

*Bob, when you're finished, can you weigh it please? I'm considering carbon fiber for the inside, 4oz glass outside, and sanding down to 3/16". Also 11'. My plan is to carry two of these into the high country in the Wind River Range, Wy. for glacier pond fun. Thanks.
