Now, this is the TV I know & love. Nice find - would have been amazing to be there - I was in NYC briefly in '75, saw the Stilettos (pre-Blondie Debbie Harry, with Ivan Kral) but, alas, never walked into a TV show...

this track is soooo good, there's so much good pre-Marquee Moon stuff that was never captured in the studio, shame ...

@robert101455 Offhand, I can't think of any Tom solo songs that sound derived from this, although some early songs did get reworked later. For instance, "Excitement" was an early song Tom & Hell co-wrote, with Hell writing lyrics & singing. After Hell left, Tom used the music for a new song, "Adventure". I once uploaded a '74 recording of "Excitement". It lasted a few months before "Richard Meyers"(Hell's real name) lodged a copyright infringement claim against it, & spiked it. Bloody Hell!

Didn't Verlaine rework this into another song for one of his solo albums? I've never heard "Hard On Love," but this definitely sounds very familiar.

this the same gig that the live recordings of opening band Rocket from the tombs stem from?

Yes. Great sound quality for its time and place.

I have listened to Television on the radio, and the act of doing so is not to be confused with the Negro Neo-Minstrel act with that "Cookie Mountain" song or what-have-you. Good Day.
